hey all, here's a list i put together for my Red Templar army using models i have. I recently ran it against an ultramarine army and we tied 5-5 in annihilation. It is a good all around army and performed well over my expectations, considering i was up against a thunderfire cannon...
chaplain: jump pack, digital weapons weapons, melta bomb
termy squad (5): standard issue gear (i dont own any with special weapons)
tactical squad 1: 10 marines, 1 ML, 1 flamer, rhino
tactical squad 2: 10 marines, 1 plasma cannon, 1 flamer
assault squad (9): sergeant w/ power fist
land speeder: heavy bolter, typhoon missile launcher
i figured the terminator squad's deep striking would come in handy with and units i need to take out at a given time, and the land speeder more than killed its points worth. also, the chaplain teamed with the assault squad made for a deadly unit, wiping out an 8 man scout unit on the charge. in addition, the melta bomb on the chaplain destroyed a dreadnought, so that was nice to see. this list was a variant of my normal lists, as there are no vehicles (excluding the speeder) and i dont use my captain and dev squad. let me know what you think/what to change/what to add for 1500 points.
A good solid army. You don't really need to change anything, but if it was me I think I'd be tempted to cut a few points from the Chaplain and replace the Plasma Cannon with a Missile Launcher to free up points for the Landspeeder to have a Multi-Melta rather than a Heavy Bolter so it can be used as an armour hunter.
As it is I think you've got a really versatile army that'll be able to deal with most opponents.
about the armor hunter for the speeder, i have a bike squad w/ MM attack bike that i was planning on using for a 1500 list, so i figured those bad boys could do the job.
