    Last Chancers 1500pt army list

    Hay. I've been reading a number of articles on the Last Chancers so i wanted to do an army list for them. The tactics i would use for this army list is the melta and plasma totting chancers to deepstrike and knock out the heavy tanks or characters while the guardsmen squads will go out and capture the objectives or lay down cover fire, the demo charges and heavy bolters to deal with hordes of infantry same with the sentinel squadrons and the vulture will deal with any opposing artillery and the basilik to deal with infantry and tanks.

    HQ

    12 LastChancers:2 with demo-charges,2 with sniper rifles,2 with melta-guns,1 with powersword and ccw,1 with ccw and combi-bolter plasma gun,1 plasma gun,1 grenade launcher + heavy bolter team, all with carapace armour

    Sentinel Squadron:1 Sentinal with multi-laser,1 Sentinal with auto-cannon and Extra armour
    Support Sentinel Squadron:1 Sentinal with multiple rocket pod and extar armour;1 Sentinal with missle launcher and extra armour

    Heavy support
    Basilisk:Indirect fire,track guards

    Vulture gunship:twin-linked auto-cannons,2 hellstrike missles,armoured cockpit

    1st Combined Regiment. Contains Tallarn,Cadians, Catachans,Valhallan,Attilan,Armageddon Steel Legion and Vostroyan. Most Kills in one turn: 98 space marines and 6 rhinos with only the stompa's Gatla Gun (only that)

    Well I assume you're using the Imperial armour Rules due to the missile pod sentinal, and the Vulture.

    P.S. aren't you missing something on the vulture? Like a chin mounted weapon?

    Basalisk does not need (or want) track guards. Why make a result that lets you continue shooting make you unable to shoot? and you're paying points for this? If it's getting shot it's dead anyway.

    The sentinals can go into three fast attack slots, and the 4th goes into the command slot. Now they don't die from being immobalised, and can move and fire as they wish.
    I'd also drop the extra armour. Missile Launcher? you mean rocket pods, the rumors of missile launchers may just be a description of rocket pods.

    I'd drop the squad's medic, and re-arrange the line squad's weapontry - flamer and autocannon? when will you use them combined?

    I.. er... have no politer way of saying remove the tech priest. Please. How is that themed Last Chancers anyway?

    As for the last chancers:

    2 with demo-charges,
    - Good. They have to be in seperate sub groups you know. I'd reccomend deep striking them with a shotgun armed mate.
    2 with sniper rifles,
    - Awful. This is the most expensive way you can possibly spend points on a last chancer. Please, buy ratlings as a "counts as", or a special weapon squad with rifles - either are cheaper or far, far better.

    2 with melta-guns,
    - Exellent, maybe deep striking with the demo charges to do the job, eh?

    1 with powersword and ccw,
    - Most will mock, I will not. a powersword armed last chancer is a viable threat. Much better in groups though, mixed in with some non- specialists with shotguns / twin ccw combos.

    1 with ccw and combi-bolter plasma gun,
    - Why not just get a plasma gun? Or, better yet, more meltas?

    1 plasma gun,
    - Sure, no problem.

    1 grenade launcher + heavy bolter team,
    The Team mate can't be a specialist, so can't have a grenade launcher (Just in case that's what you mean)
    If not, why are you paying a serious premium to give your man a cheap special weapon? Plasma or melta - not grenade launchers, please.
    HB team - exellent. May I suggest a pair? (SM scout heavy bolters on catchans work well for this) or maybe sir would like a infiltrating BS4 lascannon for about 50 points?

    all with carapace armour
    - NO! Jeesus, your men cost about 25 points each, without making a pitiful 5+ save a still pitiful 4+ save and making them over 30! . Most units normally shoot at squads, and have enough firepower to kill squads. If they've turned their fire onto your lone / paired men you'll just die, don't for gods sake buy them carapace armour!

    Hint: Buy more non-specialist last chancers & mix in.

    Hint: Chem inhalers & cameloline - I see what you're trying to do, Light infantry and drop troops (and veterans) is alot more thematic last chancer, and is also effective to boot.
    (For a bit of dirty tactics, field 2-3 basalisks with In.Fire, and ensure every other model you field is infiltrating / deep striking. Deploy after your opponent even if going first!

    Hint: Shaeffer let's you ignore buying a command HQ if you are "All Last Chancers Army". The second you put in a sentinel, let alone the platoons and basalisks you ain't all last chancer, and need to get a Regimental HQ for a legal list.
