This list is an alpha build of my starting 1000 points. All rules are based on 5th edition Marine codex. I have a few concerns about it but I thought I'd bring it before all of you. Please, pick it apart.
Note that the army list is set up to allow for the Captain to travel with the 2nd squad in their Rhino.
Captain 140: combimelta, relic blade
10 man tac squad 260
-sergeant: plasma, fist
9 man tac squad 219
5 man scout squad 165
+Land Speeder Storm +melta
autocannon + lascannon sponson
for that 9 man tactical you cant have the melta. you have to have ten in the squad.
Ah, I see that now. I thought they operated much like Terminator squads, which is clearly not the case here.
I'll get that fixed up, probably going to drop the dreadnought as well for a Whirlwind or some other kind of indirect heavy support vs. troops (Thunderfire?)... might dump the plasma pistols for extra armor on the Rhinos as well. We'll have to see.

You don't need toshow the point cost for the rhino seperately, but include the points in the squad total cost, the rhino would be an equipment.
The whirlwind would be a good Idea if you use it right. You could use the excess points to give extra armour to a rhino and use the extra from taking away the unusable meltagun and switch the plasmas for combi-plasmas, you could use the points to give a second rhino extra armour.
Solid list, should be able to deal with most situations. Don't think it requires much work.
the scout sqaud seems pretty inefficent.make them snipers and infiltrate with missle and throw them in to cause a mess, and give them sergeant telion cause he is really good at giving the missle BS 6 to take some large target out. give the tac squad with the captain chainsowrds and make them an assult thing to take down dev squads and the like. leave the dread, but consider an autocannon or something other than the melta, let the pred and scouts handle the tanks.
