Well after the failure of my previous list I've reworked it competely and knocked it down to 1k pts. I've still got plasmaguns in my squads but they do hvae synergy with lasguns (rapid fire) and the autocannons (S7) and I already have the models
Company Command Squad: Mortar, Regimental Standard, Grenade Launcher, Mortar, Officer of the Fleet (105 )
Infantry Platoon: (200 )
Command Squad: 4 Grenade Launchers
Infantry Squad I: Autocannon, Plasmagun
Infantry Squad II: Autocannon, Plasmagun
Veteran Squad: 3 x meltaguns, chimera (155 )
LRBT: Hull Heavy Bolter, Heavy Bolter Sponsons (185 )
LRBT: Hull Lascannon, Heavy Bolter Sponsons (170 )
Demolisher: Hull Heavy Bolter, Heavy Bolter Sponsons (185 )
Grand Total: 1000
It looks really good. A minor tweak woulf be to drop the HB sponsons fron the russ with the lascannon and then make it into a vanquisher with las cannon to become a decent tank hunter. Drop a GL from the HQ and you can afford cammo cloaks or carapace for them to help with survivability.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
I keep looking at the vanquisher and then returning to the blast marker main guns. as i think that they have a better chance of hitting than the flat 50% of the vanquisher cannon. even though you can be looking at half strength if the template moves too far, its still conceivable that it could scatter onto other enemy units.
I do like the idea of camo cloaks for the main HQ though
I like it.
You may come up short against heavier vehicles though. The Vanquisher isn't too reliable with BS3, but Pask can help with that. I think you would be fine losing a Russ for another Vet Squad.
