    500 point last man standing

    I'm in a tournament in two weeks the first round is 500 points-last man standing.
    My list so far:

    Captain 100

    1 Tac Squad
    Flamer/missile launcher 170

    2 Tac Squad
    Flamer/Hvy Bolter/Storm Bolter 180

    Land Speeder 50

    500 points

    I could be fighting anything but Tau or Necron are most likely.
    I've been considering changing the land speeder to a drop pod.(Captain would take power sword)

    Any particular limitations set by the organizers? Maybe certain vehicles not allowed and so on?

    Drop the captain for a cheap librarian. That way you get a power weapon thrown in for free and 2 powers to use. Gate on infinity is very useful and will alow you to move around the board and use the flamers or pull units out of combat.

    I considered using the Master of the Forge for that reason. The down side is that this game builds by 500pnts each month ending at 2000pnts, I would have to keep him through to the end. I won't have many vehicles in my larger force, so he didn't really fit. My biggest concern is that my enemy will out maneuver the Tactical squads. Looking over the list of competitors, I didn't see any tyranids or orks. I figure I can pound anyone else in close combat. However, my squads have little to counter long range weapons.

    How about:

    Librarian
    5-men Tactical Squad
    5-men Tactical Squad
    Rhino
    Rhino
    Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers

    The 4 missile launchers should scare a lot of players when they see it, while the tactical squads move around to capture objectives.

    If you have to continue using these units in the future, expand on the tactical squads and add fast units for objective contesting or assault squads for counter charging.

    i would drop a tactic squad and replace it with a small 5 man scout scout with sniper rifles and a missile launcher and i would get rid of the captain and put in a chaplain
