Just for kicks I grew my 1500 drop pod into a 2k. If it tests well I may go this direction in the future, but thought I would have the brains here take a look.
I have 6 drop squads with the storm or 5 without it. The assault will start on the table in cover. The Elite should drop first, hopefully Pedro's Orbital (who will be with the Sternguard) will punish an army that bunches up to protect against the drop. The Heavy support will blow forward and contest the middle. With luck I may be able to assault with the jump packs the turn my elite lands, closing in on the enemy from all three fronts.
The Tac. Squads will drop where they can help mop up or grab objectives and the storm/scouts can defend a rear area or sit out of the way and snipe.
Could this work or am I still newbing out?!

HQ: Digiweapons for the chaplin if you have a few points left over at the end. Kantor is usually taken to make sternguard scoring but you only have 5 of them. Drop him entirey.
Troops: Not enough in a 2000 point list. You need another tac squad I think or more scouts using kantors points.
Fast: Assault swuad is great. Who is travelling in the LSS? not the snipers surely. Buy 5 scouts with a SG/PF Sarge and 4xBP/CCW. They make a great little assault unit with the heavy flamer softening up the opposition and the leadership penalties they will suffer due to you assaulting from the LSS.
Heavy: Good. As you are drop podding on to the enemy you may want to look at AC/2LC preds to avoid freindly fire.

There are ten Sternguard, wouldn’t that provide the amount of scoring needed or is that not the issue?
I placed the snipers with the storm so they could quickly move to either secure a scoring point or move to a far flank to snipe. I figured the storm would help them with defense against an assault, or as a drop deterrent on a point. That d4 could come in handy against that.
I wanted to set up the scouts for assault but I have seen people defend the drop by flanking their units with vehicles or walkers and I didn't want to smash scouts and a storm against that. I could be wrong though.
I really see your point about the vindicators. Would going one vindicator 1 AC/2LC pred. be less effective then 2 of either or?
