    1750/2K Mechanized List

    Here we go, for mechanized roaming fun!
    This'll be the first of three lists: Mechanized, Gunline, and Outflanking. This list is a 1750 and 2k.

    The whole thing is meant to either form a gunline, or a slowly marching armored column, escorted by the infantry. Valks can either come on late game to cause trouble, or ride along with the column, or provide a sort of Close Air Support.

    Due to being pointed to the errors of my ways, I've made a few changes: I've dropped Straken, cleaned up the CC-oriented command squad to be shootier, stuck rocket pods on the second valk, and included another Armageddon sentinel. Hopefully this is better.

I mostly play 2k games, and the LT is modeled with a bolt pistol..and I don't want to chop it off. Its a luck thing.)

    I'm not sure about the autocannon and vox in the mounted squads. The autocannon will be wasted whenever they move, and the vox is useless while mounted because you can't issue orders to a squad in a vehicle.

    If you plan on rushing up and deploying, then that's a different story, but I think you may want to use veterans for the extra special weapons.

    That was my major fenced area, honestly. I don't want to give up the Heavy Weapons and Voxes in case I need to form an impromptu line, but yet....yeah.
    Its one of those tough decisions, but this list isn't tailored to any one fight, either.

    My only concern with the list is that you're fairly low on troops. Also, not really a fan of the sentinels. I find them ineffective and fragile. Not sure I like the plasma pistol in the CCS either. Personally, I'd find a way to get more troops in your list.

    Six individual troop units (in 2k), five of which are mounted, are not enough? Dropping the sentinels and stripping the command squads MIGHT let me squeeze two more mounted squads...but then I've killed off a good chunk of my AT power. And to go with a large number of unmounted squads defeats the purpose of a mechanized list.

    True, you bring up a good point. I'd still try and figure out a way to get less fragile AT power though.

    I would take out the voxes, because you are mech and the troops cannot benefit from orders while inside their transports. I would take away the plasma pistol and power weapon from the command squad aswell to upgrade all special weapons inside vehicles to meltaguns. By doing this all of your chimera units will be capable of destroying vehicles.

    Your command squads will be what I call chimeltas. They will have 4 meltaguns in a chimera waiting for the oppurtunity to blow any vehicle up. These chimeras should have hull heavy flamer because they will be moving most of the time. The two infantry squads should have hull heavy bolter and a heavy stubber, that way it can remain still and put out 2 str 7 shots(autocannon) 3 str 6, 3 str 5, and 3 str 4 shots. They will provide enough dakka to take care of hordes, not to mention the heavy flamers on the other chimeras.

    Your vet squads are way to expensive. I would get rid of harker, carapace, and the demolition upgrades. Harker and grenade launchers work well together but its not worth 70pts. Use the points you saved to transform the valk into a vendetta with heavy bolters and give the vet squad plasma guns. That way you will have two units that can take out any threat.

    I did not get 1750 when i added up your points but oh well, with the adjustments you will be able to handle anything because you have plenty of lascannons and two chimeltas for enemy's tanks, you will have your leman russes and your infantry squads for anti-horde.
