I plan on using the second platoon to hold the objectives since that is the one with the least special weapons and has snipers and mortars. That platoon will support the advance of the first platoon along with the CCS. Straken will provide CC support should I get charged and the demo charges will make short work of any thing hold the objective. In a multi objective game I would leave a squad or two behind to protect the objective while the others adavnace. The sentinels will either use the scout move or will outflank and hunt armor/MC's/HQ's. The Demolisher will advance with the first platoon providing moblie heavy weapons fire while the LRBT will stay back and shell things. The ratlings will infiltrate into a fire position to maximize the enemy's casualties. The storm troopers will infiltrate and hopefully pin a unit for a turn or two. And of course Sly will just pop in drop a democharge and try to live long enough to do more casualties.
Hmmm looks like a hell of a list.
Demolisher. This boy you want to advance with the infantry. If he's on the move he can only fire his turret and one gun. He'll need to be stationary to fire all that plasma death. You're best of Giving the leman russ the Plasma sponsons as thats got the range to sit back and shoot stuff from afar.
Straken, Ok i love this guy too and i'm all for guard assaulting. But this squad must be hideously expensive. It's to much of a target for your opponent. I'd loose all the additional weapons and just give them carapace and a medic if you have the points to spare.
What are the squads D&E for in the second platoon? They've got no weapons at all
So are these boys used to enlarge an existing squad with weapons? Or are they used as meat sheilds?
Personally to give the A Platoon more of a defined roll as objective takers I'd mount them in Chimeras. 5 Chimeras is alot of fire power if you do need to hold back and shoot and they're only 275pts for the lot of them. To get the points loose the Naked squads from B platoon, loose the Stormtroopers as they're never really going acheive anything other than a kill point for your opponent and the gear from your command squad. That should just about do it.
Hope thats a few ideas anyway.

That CCS is expensive. If you want to run Straken, you'll need somebody capable in HtH to support him (alliked GKs). Swap the meltas out for grenades or flamers and add some advisors (MoO if you want to be static, Astro to help with reserves). With camo cloaks and FNP they can last a while. Alternatively, mount in a Chimera and go nuts on meltas, otherwise keep it cheap.
5 Stormies are still expensive and unimpressive, add 2 meltas and Deep Strike or don't bother.
Ratlings are fine.
Marbo is fine.
Platoon A: PCS doesn't need combat weapons, stick them in a Chimera. Meltas are bad at BS3. Go for autocannons to pop light vehicles or lascannons to down tanks, then run plasma or grenades. SWS are trash.
Platoon B: Same deal, get better weapons for your guardsmen. Naked infantry are terrible.
Those Sentinels are really expensive, I'd rather have Vendettas/Valks or Vets in Chimeras.
Lascannons on Russes are bad. BS3 and pricy. Otherwise they look fine.
You've got a whole bunch of junk in your infantry platoons. Re-do them. You are very short on anti-tank, and lascannons aren't going to cut it. You need meltas, Medusas, a Vanquisher with Pask, or Devil Dogs.
==Me==, where is he short on Anti tank, he has 16 models with a str =< 7.
My only comments agree with the other ones said. Drop the stromtroopers and Close Combat Squad.
Army's used: Space Wolves, Tomb Kings, High Elves, Tyranids, Tau and Eldar.
Battle Cannons are not anti-tank. Lascannons on BS3 platforms are not sufficient, and missile launchers can't touch AV14 (autocannons perform better at AV12 and lower).
Thanks for the comments.
The only reason I have the naked infantry squads is that I ran out of special weapons to give, and I was thinking about combining them into a squad and have them advance with the CCS. I use the PCS from platoon A to support the CCS, they generally help to clear off anything that might attempt to charge the CCS. An example of their use would be my friend enjoys using Scarabs sqarms to tie down my CCS for a couple of turns so he can manuever his Lord over to them. I use the PCS to either clear those annoying scarabs or to take the charge instead.
I was considering dropping the meltas in the CCS and switch them out for flamers. Any thoughts?
I could make the squad with just the Meltagun in Platoon A become Vets and use the other meltas from the CCS for them. Though I dont own any Chimeras so that squad would just get shot to pieces...
I could make those two naked squads into Vet squads and give them Democharges, I might be able to find a grenade launcher or two somewhere...
Everything that I have for IG with the exception of 2 more infantry squads is in the list.
If I drop the Storm Troopers, I could take a conscript squad. Though I don't know how effective they would be.
I will have my modded list posted, as soon as I get around to it.
On another note. Anyone know of a good way to make griffons or medusas from a basalisk/Leman Russ Kit?
Also, your suggestion of AV14 being the end all be all of IG issues confuses me. The number of AV14 vehicles is fairly limited, especially AV14 all around (Landraider & Monolith). Not only that, the cost of AV14 vehicles is fairly high compared to the lighter vehicles which can be spammed and therefore cause more issues for limited AT support.
Also, while the Battlecannon is not a preferred AT solution, if the need arises, it certainly does the job. Ordnance S8 shots can still penetrate AV13 and have a statistically higher chance to do so. Sure it might scatter, but you can't expect to hit every time with anything.
