hey have started a salamander force myself an heres my two cents

the sternguard are quite exspensive maybe drop 3 each of the combi-weapons
and add a flamer and melta gun. With vulkan your fire will be accurate (twinlinked) so you probaly wont need that many meltas to destroy armour. If you dont fire all the combi flamers at once any casualties will cause a serious loss of combat effectiveness and 5 flamer templates will cause this unit to be a priority target ( assume your going to combat squad the sternguard).

My force doesnt use drop pods but is rather based on razor-back transported squads and a redemmer so respect your different play style, as i prefer multiple cheap squads.

I'd probably take a melta and heavy flamer instead of two heavy flamers on the Ironclad. I'd also take the stock MM on the normal Dreadnought since you've got Vulkan in your list.

I would agree with Kazador and reduce the amount of combi-weapons you have. Personally, I only take 4 x combi-meltas on my Sternguard. With the special ammo at rapid fire range you have a good chance to bloody a unit in cover anyway. Just my 2 cents.

Make both dreads into normal dreads with MM + HF. Aso drop one combimelta from the sternguard and maybe the combiweapons from the tac squads. Use the points for a few PF or PWs spread around the squads.
