    1k All Comers First Attempt

    Hi all this is my first attempt at an Imperial Guard list.

    Drop either the autocannon or the plasma gun from your CCS, these guys will attract a lot of fire so you should be keeping them cheap and with lots of extra wounds (lasgun equipped guys).

    The eradicator isn't a russ I like, sure it does well against cover but it costs more and doesn't have as much smurf killing potential. Then at long ranges (more than 36) it can't do anything. Swap it out for a different russ, vanilla or not.

    Other than that this is a pretty solod list, you may want to consider cutting the master of the fleet for a master of ordance but that's your choice. If you face a lot of reserve heavy opponents then he's a great choice, if not...

    HQ: Good. Move the Chimera to this squad and put the vets in the vendetta.

    Elites: Not bad. A special weapn squad with sniper rifles cost the same but have worse BS and fewer special weapons. However they are a scoring unit.

    Troops: Good. Plasmaguns are expensive but the excellent AP makes them worth it.

    Fast: Perfect.

    Heavy: Try for 2 standard russ with plasma sponsons. Drop Extra armour from the chimera and downgrade the plasmaguns in the platoon to GLs to free up points.

    Personally I would go for alot more troops. Like ALOT more troops.

    2 company command squads each waving a banner and some body guards for 125 and 115 points respectivly (you figure it out...)

    and the 750 points of cheap infantry.

    Like
    platoon command squad with nothing on it and 2 of these
    1 sarge 1 HWS + missile launcher 7 IG
    and one squad with a meltagun

    should be about 220 points

    and then you just throw in more of the same

    in the end you should have something like

    2 moral enhancing HQs for 235 points
    3 platoon command squads for more orders
    3 meltaguns IG squads
    6 Missile launcher IG squads

    and more importantly
    over 100 models on the table most of which will have a decent chance of not running off after taking 3 casualties!

    on the other hand 4 solid pieces of armor on the table is prett dirty too

    The vet squads, I'd ditch the flamer from them and go for another Melta. You can always equip the chimera with a heavy flamer so they've got the template for anti-hoard.

    Eradicators, now i like these tanks. Mainly as i'm a city fight nut. but in normal games the normal Russ is just better. Longer range, better str, better AP and it's cheaper.
