We are going to be playing some games from the 4th edition combat squad scenario. I had some great ideas then read the rules and they all went right out the window. So, no 2+ saves, no armor over a combined value of 33, no models with more than 2 wounds, no special characters, and only need one troop choice. Well after whining and pouting about the armor limit for a while I went with this.
Tac Squad x10
Combat squad the Tacticals and let the Plasma lay down some cover fire for the advance. Have the Razorback park the Sternguard in rapid fire range and say hello. The flamer unit can act as a counter charge for the Sternguard or something to tie up a ranged unit.
I'm wondering if a trade for a power weapon for the tacticals and a combi-melta for the stern would be a better idea than the single PF. Any thoughts gentlemen? If anyone has any other Ideas I would liike to hear it... asside from bikes, I dont have a single one.
No no HQ is required. The rules are like this.
Armies are no more than 400 points.
There must be at least one Troops choice.
You may include a single HQ choice, but no more than that.
No model can have more than 2 Wounds.
No special or Unique characters.
No model can have a save better than a 3+ or 4+ Invulnerable.
Vehicles cannot have a total Armour Value greater than 33. Calculate this by adding the Front, Side and Rear armour values.
No Ordnance weapons.
