Thinking of starting out my new 750 army (realized 500 just dont do it) with this basic build. Need help tweaking my points a bit, or utilizing my choices better. I hear alot of good things about attack bikes and CC scouts. Feedback is appreciated.
Tac Squad (10)
Tac Squad (10)
4 sniper rifles
Heavy bolter w. hellfire
Assault Squad (5)
get rid of the assault squad and have 1 multi melta and 1 heavy bolter attack bike attack bikes. a five guy assault squad will probs die before it gets to the enemy lol
give your scouts camo cloaks for +1 cover save.
make the rest of the points up in combi weapons and/or meltabombs.
at least that what i would do lol

I would probably drop the Scouts. Two troop choices at 750 is enough. Then, I'd upgrade one of your Rhinos to a Razorback.
Assault squads are better if they are 8-10 marines strong in my opinion. If you drop them you can combat squad a Tactical squad and attach the Chaplain to the half riding in the Razorback. Give your other sergeant a powerfist.
With some of your remaining 180 points you could add a Dreadnought. Assault cannons and MM are good, but I've found the plasmacannon is terrific for light vehicles and troops.
If you give the Dreadnought a heavy flamer also you'll have enough points for an Attack bike with MM with 5 points to spare.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you think it is worth a chaplain if I am only attatching him to a combat squad of tac's w/ the power fist? Would it be better use of points to ues the Libby?
Thats what I was thinking. My only concern is if I am playing without assault marines, am I really getting my bang out of him attatched to a 5 man combat squad in a Rhino/Razorback?
Is there a better way to utilize him assuming I have 2 10 man tac squads and a Rhino/Razorback for each ? I am concerned about the combat squad getting splattered in CC.
I was starting to think the libby would be better with the tac's because they are more shooty.
But I would def prefer the chappy
thanks for the feedback
Making a 5 man squad fearless is quite handy, aside from that you can issue him a combi-melta, the same to the serg and a regular melta on the special weapons guy - which can seriously mess up a vehicle squadron, or be an almost assured kill on a land raider.
