Special Weapon Squad (ride in Vendetta)
2 Demolition Charges

3 Plasma Guns
3 Melta Guns

Ok then, the basic idea is to hug cover (catachan style) and shoot people a lot. And the army packs quite a punch in combat too, with Straken. Nothing major, but they're not pushovers. I'm not losing Marbo, he's too fluffy.
Any advice? I'd like to keep it Catachan themed if possible.
The special weapon squad is illegal, they must have 3 spevcial weapons.
Harkers vet squad sshould stay mobile and outflank, drop the autocannon and give em some meltaguns.
Heavy flamers count as a special weapon for veteran squads.
Chimeras can only fire one weapon on the move so they don't need the second flamer, you'd more likely hit more enemies with 1 bettert positioned flamer than 2 wors positioned, plus the range casulties you could inflict with a multi laser.
You need more AT, maybe swap the hydra and russ out for another couple vaandettas, you'd need to shuffle a few other things around with your list.
My proposed changes.
Drop the heavy flamer on vet squad 1.
Swap the flamers and autcannon from harkers vet squad to 3 meltaguns.
Drop the heavy support (I can't beleive i'm telling a fellow guard player to do this lol).
Take 2 vandettas with no heavy bolter gunners.
Move the CCS flamer to the SWS.
It's a pretty good list there were just those few illegal things which is understandable for a new guard player and a lack of AT.

alright then, good looking list so far, very fluffy, I do like that. I'm going to stick a lot with the guy ahead of me in saying dump the heavy support. Also yes your special weapon squad is illegal, I would throw in a flamer or another demo if you can spare the points. A single vendetta is going to be shot down so fast you won't even believe it, personally i would add a second for anti tank. Also! I'd drop the vox casters, I played a few games with them and learned quite quickly they will not help you much, i would drop them... I would also drop the chimera based vet squad, and probably add an anti tank heavy weapon squad. Also yes, drop the auto cannon with harker, he's relentless so you can keep him on the move and firing. Also I would drop the medic in your pcs and replace him with a flamer. If your going to make them into a close combat squad then you want as many assault attacks as possible.
Now as for tactics, You seem to be a very counter attacking army, with only your PCS and one Veteran squad (harker) on the move constantly. Your pcs will probably want to stay back and issue orders, so I would switch the flamers to grenade launchers or plasma guns to keep them stable. Seeing as how you hopefully will put in enough anti-tank, I would switch your auto cannons to heavy bolters in your line squads just for more shots. Umm umm.. lemme see, ohh yes, drop the flamers from your autocannon vet squad, change them to plasma guns...
I think that's all I want to say, probably a load of waffle but still, hopefully it will help.

Ok, changes I've made:
Astropath, cause I have a lot of outflankers.
Dropped the Heavy Support.
Taken 3 Sentinels with Autocannons (outflanking nastiness, on side armour)
2 Sentinels with Multilasers (see above)
Added 3 melta's to harkers unit.
Added in another chimera, to the veterans.
Dropped some voxes to get Plasma Guns.

in general I like it, still I think you only have 3 melta's and a vendetta (that can easily be shot down) that can penetrate AV14. you could really do with more melta's, if you don't want to take lascannon's in squad's for fluff reasons (I don't think catachan's setting up lascannon's looks right) then that's fine but you could definately use more melta's.
