Hi, welcome to LO
First, your troops have no transports. In the current 5th Ed environment mobility is very important, so drop some units to get some Rhinos or Razorbacks in. Also related is how do you plan to play Sicarius and the Terminators without a transport?
Secondly, remove the melta bomb from your Assault Sergeant since you already have a Powerfist. I normally buy a Meltabomb if I end up with free points left over, and not as a first choice. Your Tactical Sergeants would also benefit from Powerfists or at the very least power weapons.
Ilike the list it is pretty balance but yah i agree mobility is everything. also why sicarus unless you plan to do somthing special with him fill me in
I am using sicarius because of the synergy effect he has on the whole army, plus he boosts one of my tactical squads to have a veteran ability. I was thinking scout for moving them faster. Plus all of the units will have Leadership 10. I could put him in a land raider with the terminators... but i feel like a landraider is a point sink for 1500. I dont have any rhinos in it because I am dont have the cash to get two rhinos at the moment. was planning on using the tact squads as shooty. Maybe I can drop off the extra armor from the predator plus drop the melta bomb from the assault sergent and get a drop pod for the dreadnaught. That way I have assault and CC from the Assault marines and the dreadnaught I would deep strike the terminators... not sure how i would mobilize sicarius though. Another big reason he is in the army list is for his coup de grace. The chaos army is filled with multiwound special characters, which gave me alot of trouble when I used a regular space marine captain.
hey the one advice i cangive you is see if one of your friends canlend you a rhino or 3 to use then take the assault packs off the assault squad for a free rhino and put sicarus inthere withthem
what about dropping the assault squad altogether adding a LR for sicarius and the termies. changing the vindicator to 85pts by making it anti-troop. and adding 2 rhinos for the tactical squads. I have definately come to realize that the general consensius is foot sloggers are a no no. I would deep strike the dreadnaught. These changes would put me at 1492 points I believe. I would either add a melta bomb or preferably a power sword to a tactical sergent. I dont know the values off of the top of my head will have to look in the codex.
You shouldn't underestimate the abilities of an assault squad. When used correctly (and I cannot stress this enough as most people do not understand how to use them properly, assault squads are not made to go toe-to-toe with a squad of berserker equivalents like most people assume. Like everything in a Space Marine force they are made to work with other units) they can be a really deadly force. Deep strike them onto a drop pod, lead them with a chaplain, have them protect a tactical squad holding an objective (20 bolter shots, 10 bolt pistol shots, then 20 close combat attacks can devastate any squad). So don't drop them so hastily.
I agree with everyone else so far, find a way to incorporate some mobility into your army. I would modify your predator back to its basic variant and swap your tactical squad's heavy bolter for a multi-melta. This would give you enough points to get two drop pods for your tactical squads. You can also buy locator beacons for one or both drop pods and deep strike your terminators with a tactical squad. This way your tactical marines can support your terminators.
Now at this point if my math is correct (1497 - 95 points off the predator) you'll now have two drop pods, one equiped with a locator beacon. This will leave you with 15 points, so if you consider letting go of the extra armor on the predator and let go of the melta bomb on the assault sergeant you can spend those 35 points on a third drop pod for your dreadnought. This way you can drop him anywhere you want making him a real threat to any force. If you can find the room consider changing the heavy bolter to an assault cannon or back to a multi-melta and he'll be a tank hunter (Which will scare the pants off anyone that fields armor when you deep strike him). With that in mind definitely consider magnetizing your dread's right arm so you can swap between the assault cannon, multi-melta, and heavy bolter.
Kenmichi makes some excellent points there, I'll just add that giving the 2 tactical squads and the dreadnaught a pod each means you'll get a TS squad and a Dread down turn 1 - leaving another TS in reserve to come down on an objective late game.
