Ok, so this is the first list I've ever made. I hope it's good! Feel free to critique as you wish, though I would prefer only constructive criticism.
Command Squad (160pts)
Tac Squad (170pts)
Tac Squad (195pts)
Tac Squad (195pts)
Scout Squad (137pts)
-4 snipers/camo cloaks
Termie Squad (205pts)
Fast Attack Units
Assault Squad (135pts)
-lightning claw/combat shield
Heavy Support Units
-heavy bolter sponsons
Devastator Squad (145pts)
There's two major things I'd change here:
1) It's a very static army, put your Tactical Squads in Rhinos or Drop Pods
2) Increase the Assault Squad to 10 men - it'll be alot more effective.
Other than that it's a solid list.
Thanks for the advice, are rhinos really that good? I was just going for a bunch of foot-sloggers.
Agreed, you could remove the Captain and add 5 more Assault Squad troops with plasma pistol and still have points to spare. Split them into a combat squad with Plasma Pistols on one side with the Chaplian and they can hunt Heavy Armored Infantry units.
Also I've always been skeptical of the Techmarine with Servitors, having 1 guy with Units that might have a brain-fart doesn't seem like a good investment. Instead you can use those points on adding some mobility to your team like 3 Rhinos for you Tac Marines and 1 Drop Pod for your Dreadnought. Trust me you don't want him or anyone foot slogging across the battle field as they'll get shot to bits before they even do anything and you'll have difficulty capturing objectives if needed.
Extra Storm Bolter on Predator seems redundant and Power Weapon on Dev Squad feels wasted as you hardly ever want to get them into CC.
If you free up these points including the ones from the other suggestions you will have a little over 75 pts to play with!! You could add a 5 man Scout squad to Outflank and capture objectives!!!
Agreed, I have been thinking about buying a a Dev Squad or a Predator and it would be fun to find out how this army list fared in combat! Hopefully you can keep us updated.
At the moment I'm in transit between living places so I can't really get into any games. I will however try to update you on how the list does fare. At the moment, I currently own a 1500pt list that is essentially the above list without the chaplain, the flamer/MM tac squad and the techmarine. (I haven't bought those yet) What do y'all think of such a list for 1500?
