ok so went back to the drawing board and up'd my troop choices the list runs as follows:
10 Scout Squad
-sniper rifle 4
-camo cloaks 5
10 Tactica Squad
10 Tactical Squad
5 Devestator Squad
-multi melta 3
-sheild and hammer 3
The list is based on hitting the enemy hard and fast while holding the line with my devestator squad to kill armour and watch for drop pod assault and the scouts for pinning infantry and picking on targets that might otherwise be a pain to wound, the thunderfire cannon on the other hand ties this twom forces together by giving the scouts a 2+ cover save and stabilising the devestators on a 3+ save in all but the more extreme cases while dropping templates on infantry and slowing oncoming soldiers, the two tactical squads are for plantin gin th eface of the enemy or flanking but would perhaps function better in drop pods. everything else is designed to drop onto enemy tank positions and send them to the scrap heap in the sky.
thoughts comments and suggestions are welcolmed.
HQ: What powers are you using? It is actually quite rare that you need both powers per turn throughout a game so I would ditch that upgrade.
Troops: Scouts are ok if they are combat squadding. Perhapse a PF for the sarge in the transport. Tac squads are fine but I would take the free multimeltas. Even though you may not fire them often as your squad moves they can still fire their bolt pistols.
Heavy: Devastators are poor. In small units they are even worse and with short ranged weapons they are appauling, still at least you didn't put them in a drop po.... oh. Ditch them for a unit of 3 MM armed attack bikes who can turboboost then move & fire to their heart's delight. Thunderfire is ok.
Elites: Termies are good.
Fast: The LSS is good when armed with a heavy flamer to make up for the poor BS. The other speeder could take MM + HF to give it a secondary role as a horde hunter.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
I do beleive that scouts must buy camo cloaks for all members of the squad or they dont have it, so buying 5 camo cloaks seems a bit pointless.
There's not much else I can add to Mad Cat's suggestions so I'll just say "listen to him"
