    advice on my IG 1700 build please

    well i'm quite a newbie and haven't been able to fork out anymore money for tanks etc. so im trying to make my mostly infantry army pack as much of a punch as possible by modding special characters like marbo and harker and stormtrooper squads. read on and tell me what you think. it would really be appreciated:

    pretty good the master of ordanance is great i would drop the snipers and the vox and put in a lascannon team or an auto cannon team. in 5th snipers are not very good they use your basilstic skill so hitting on 3's for veterens and wounding on 4's not very good.

    solid i would go with grenade lauchers in there it just depends on what yo want the squad to do

    drop the krak grenades , you dont want to be moving these guys do to their heavy weapon and if they get close to you with a vehicle that means they have moved at least 6 or probably 12 inches so you would be hitting on 6's. i would also replace the bolter with an auto cannon

    drop the power weapon you really are not going to beat anyone at close combat

    bastonne is cool but like most special charecters over riced and not worth it.

    very nice same thing for harker though meltas in chimeras are always a good choice

    the guard power fist is more expensive than the marine one and only gives you strenth 6 so not really worth the points

    better not to mix i would go with lascannons for long range anti tank

    split these into 3 indivual setinals

    overall an ok list hope i helped i would get some more chimeras for your vets when you get a chance. tactically i think you should keep your regular infantry and your command squads back to hold your closest objective while you send the setinals and the vets up

    It's fine to play foot, but you need the right combo of guns and units to take ground and stop threats. Let's see what you've got.

    Commander doesn't need a BPistol and Snipers aren't great vs many armies. If you want these to shoot, give them 3 Grenade Launchers or Snipers (if you love them), Camo Cloaks and a Standard to hold your line.

    The Commander doesn't need a BPistol, give his unit an Autocannon.

    Drop the Flamer and replace the HBolter with an Autocannon. The Vox can probably go as well, most of your Orders go towards HW Teams.

    Drop the PWeapon and the Melta Gun. Use GLaunchers for Autocannon unbits, they have similar reaches and strengths.

    Vets are at their best in a Chimera. Grenadiers are a waste of points, a 4+ save won't save them it just makes them cost more. I'd buy a Chimera for these (eventually) or scrap them until than.

    Cool unit, they can Outflank with the transport. Make sure the Chimera has a Hull Heavy Flamer.

    Drop the PFist and Grenadiers. Give these guys an Autocannon, they're on the ground anyways.

    Don't mix special weapons. STroopers are your best anti-vehicle, they can go anywhere. Use 2 Meltas and DS them most games. Drop the PWeapon, worthless.

    HK Missiles are bad, never use one shot weapons. Camo Nets are a waste as well, you can't always hide them and their ability to move and fire is astrength. Use all of the same weapons, I'd go with Plasma Cannons or Autocannons, the BS is to low for Lascannons.
    Your list is written a bit fuzzy. You have MANY upgrades you don't need at all, which can buy more bodies and guns. You need another HWS of Lascannons to use both your Officer Orders, they dominate MCs with it.

    I know you're trying to fill points but start with smaller games and build up when you have the right models.
