The codex written there D3+3" blast. Does it mean the diameter or the blast radius?
first i think this fits better under the generic IG forum not the army lists, any way
Im going to do the terrible thing and "assume" that it is diameter because the rule books list the large as 5" and that is diameter it is referring to.
Also if it meant radius it would make the death strikes blast able to be larger than the giant 10" apoc. blast marker.
so yeah prolly diameter
nah D3+3 means rol a 6 sided dice, half the score then add three
eg 6/2 + 3= 6
hope this helps
It says it has a Variable blast "Radius" so that gives you a fairly impressive Template anywhere between 8 to 12 inches accross. It's Str10 all the way accross to so any vehicles hit will take a str10 hit and as it's 'barrage' it will hit their side armour no matter where the shot comes from.
Hope that helps.
PS if i'm wrong someone correct me
I'm with Borak on this one. It does say 'variable blast radius', right?
So pick a point on the board and place a marker (like a dice) and roll to scatter it. Then roll a D3 and add 3 to get a number. Everything within this distance around the marker gets hit.
In a nutshell, if you roll a 5 or 6 then you will have a 12" template. Doooom!
p. 55 of the guard codex, read after the star below the profile of the deathstrike; it clearly states blast radius.

well all be darned, don't listen too me lol
That makes the death strike very scary, though a total points sink if it doesn't do anything with it's randomness.
