Chaplain with jump pack and powerfist (with assault squad)
6 scout Squads - 10 in each, all have sniper riles
Assault Squad - 5, sergeant has a powerfist
Devastator Squad - 10, 4 heavy bolters
This is usually against a Hive Tyrant with 3 guard, 2 carnifex's, 6 warriors, broodlors wwith 11 stealers (outflanking) and a couple gaunt squads. There may be ravenors or lictors or something ainstead of that, but that's the general idea.
The plan is to kill the synapse creatures first, then continually pin the gaunts and similar with whirlwinds and some snipers, and kill the fex's with the other snipers. When stealers come on I'll feed them a combat squad of snipers, then shoot them to bits.
This is just against a friend and will have some problems in objective based games, but it should be fun.
Any thought, strategies or suggestions would be great!
u shouldn't give ur Chaplain a power fist cos im pretty sure he can be picked out in close combat cos hes an Independent character so keep the power wep u want him fast so he dosnt die
60 scouts?!? Why would you collect so many >.>?
Milan - he needs to be able to kill carnifex's and HT's that get past the snipers, also nids don't have much that can do damage with an initiative of 4 or less.
May well consider using the power weapon anyway if the situation arises - thanks for the adivce.
Ooglatjama - I don't actucally have 60 scouts, I have 15, my friend has some and so does his brother.
