Welcome to Librarium Online!
Got a 1500 battle comming against a nidzilla army. He is sporting a flyrant some shooty carnifex, zoanthrope, and some genestealers. I do not know his exact makeup. It's a new list for him this week but that is the core of his recent army.
I'm thinking of running
Scout Squad x5
I don't have much time at my disposal, but when I saw you posted a list and nobody replied I felt obliged to give you a hand. I would suggest the following changes for optimization:
Consider thunder hammer terminators instead of shooty ones. They last longer against the MCs who will strike before you. This is optional though, the shooty ones have their upsides in their guns...
Make the land raider a land raider crusader. It can kill more bugs.
Telion is probably not worth his points versus Nids as they don't have many upgrade characters. Pinning is useless too and the scouts don't do so well overall without that, putting out only few shots and hitting even less.
Take a squad of five sternguard instead of the scout squad with Telion and heavy bolter, and give them two combi-plasmas just in case the enemy MCs turn out to have 2+ armor saves. Sternguard special ammo is win against Nids, killing MCs, breaking 4+ armor, ignoring cover, etc...
Take a second whirlwind instead of the predator. Ignoring cover will probably be more important and the pie plate kills a lot. Though the predator is pretty good too, so this again is optional.
Hope that helps! Good luck.
Cassius, by the way, is of course the best HQ choice for this, fluffwise.
Thanks, I really apreciate the input.
I was worried about the terminators not being able to shoot, but thinking agin they would be in the Land Raider so that is less of an issue.
I like the sternguard idea. I wanted to go with them origionally but forgot about them. I'll definately put them back in in place of the scouts.
I don't have a crusade, but I do have one I can borrow.
I was thinking of taking another whirlwind in leu of the Pred. I picked pred due to the possibility of putting more wounds on a single big bug. The Whirlwind would probably be more usefull though.
