Infantry Squad A
Infantry Squad B
Infantry Squad C
Leman Russ Battle Tank
Leman Russ Demolisher
A little background before the comments.
I'm completely new to guard, so this is pretty much based off of other people's lists and the comments put on them. The vast majority of players at my local store are SM or CSM. I will very likely not get a vendetta.
Back from a long adventure.
Thats a pretty much solid list for 1000pts.
Good. I might leave Camo cloaks off just so you can get some points for more guns or upgrades on your other units.
I'd grab some G-Launchers for the Infantry squads. They're cheap and useful.
HWS is ok and a brilliant objective camper but maybe another Infantry Squad would be more handy to you? They're not greatly effective against Marines anyway. Maybe grab Marbo with the Points?
Vets: Good, pretty standard nowadays.
I'd find the points to upgrade the Russ to another Demolisher. You need the AP2 punch at the moment. If one of your opponens feilds a Terminator Squad your lone Demolisher will become a prime target, and if that goes you'll have a hard time stopping them. Taking things in pairs is always better as it doesn't hurt as much when you loose one.

Pretty solid list.
To make it faster and more versatile I'd ditch the heavy weapons squad, the camo cloaks and a chimera for the veterans. For those points you get a Vendetta for that extra Ap2 firepower and makes those veterans extra fast, mobile and dangerous. That would put you at 1000pts even.
You could even ditch an infantry squad to get a chimera for the CCS, but then they would be ore helped with triple plasma guns for some serious drive-bys.
If you got extra points spend them on Plasma Guns on anything with BS4, preferably on the CCS.
