So i have redone my army from partial mech to hopefully full mech.
This is a 1750 list.
2x Plasma guns
Rhino, Extra Armor
Razorback, Extra Armor
11 Blood Claws
Land Raider Redeemer
standard fit + Extra Armor, Heavy Flamer, Drop pod
Standard fit + Extra Armor, Heavy Flamer, Drop pod
Wolf Scouts x5
Feel free to tear it apart, my dream is to run the armored core of the RB, 2 Rhinos, LRR. Im thinking of replacing the ven dread with some Land Speeders.
my need as i see it is more anti armor. i want to use my long fangs, but they cant keep up with the army and its a static unit.
Thanks for the advice so far, ill keep the LR, i like MEQ killing flamethowers over Bolters.
Any thoughts on my Heavy otherwise? it feels to lite in the anti-tank department. i was thinking Land Speeders...
You are light on anti-armor that's why I said switch most things to Meltas.
Redeemers are crap, if you haven't used one before you'll see. The flamers being far back and on sponsons really limits what you can hit, can't even hit one unit with both sides unless they're positioned horribly. TL Bolters + MM + AC = better against everything in the game, which includes MEQs.
Few more suggestions for you.
Take a meltagun instead of the plasma pistol in the Wolf Scouts.
If you can afford it, get a WGPL into the BC squad. I know you need a minimum of three though. I usually take one in GH squads as well.
I agree with The Prince of Excess about the razorback squad. I think 7-8 is the minimum number of GH you should take and then only with a WGPL. Otherwise, take 10 with meltas.
Personally I'd drop the extra armour on the rhinos and take either dozer blades or a Wolf Standard in the Squad. If you reroll even one failed save on a 1 and pass second time round, you've got your points back.
I don't see an issue with the redeemer if you're taking multi-melta dreads. With your current line-up though, you'll only have one dread down first turn. I usually take a minimum of three pods. That way, if you fluff the hits on one dread you've got another and your opponent has twice as many targets.
Hope this helps.
