new space marine player new list. a hopefully sucessful starting army

I used to play tau but found them hard to use with the knew rulebook so i decided hey why not try a space marine army and I did.I decided to go with The Mentors as my chapter they look cool and are easy and fun to paint.I normallly face eldar and necrons please keep this in mind.

    starting list 500 pts

    HQ: 130 pts
captain with lighting, claw bolt pistol and artificer armour

    Troop:245 pts
(170pts)tactical sqaud with rockit launcher (or heavy bolter haven't decided yet)
    (75pts)scout snipers

    Heavy Support:125 pts
    vindicator with siege shield

any suggestions please for either a good start of 500 or a good 500 pionts added on to what i have already

    HQ:
I would drop the captain for a chaplain, I don't find a SM captain not on a bike to be as effective of an HQ

    Troops:
Toss a flamer onto your tac. squad

    Heavy Support:
I would drop the siege shield in lower point army

With your extra points I would combat squad your tactical squad and put the half with the flamer/ srgt. and the chaplain in a razorback
