Hey guys, I've decided to settle down on some default Semi-Competitive/Friendly lists, and I've wondered what you guys think of one of them. I used a slightly modified version of it the other day against some Marines, they did pretty well. We've got all sorts of armies in the group I play with, so I'm not really trying to focus on any of them.
So, Onwards to the list!
Company Command Squad
- 4x G. Launchers
Leman Russ Battle Tank x 2
Vendetta Gunship x2
Armoured Sentinel Squadron (3)
- Heavy Bolter Sponsons
Veteran Squad x2
Platoon Command Squad for Alpha and Beta
- Meltaguns x3
- Demolitions Doctrine
Infantry Squad x2 (decision to combine made at game time)
HQ and Elite: 165
Heavy Support: 300
Fast Attack: 460
Overall point total: 1489, 11 points left over.
Scoring Units: 6 to 8 (depends on combining)
Kill Points: 13-15 (depends on combining)
Autocannons (love 'em): 7
The Vendettas and Veterans deal with heavy armour, the Russes fire on Heavy infantry, the Sentinels maneuver for side-armour shots on vehicles, while my two platoons sit back and direct their fire towards APCs with Orders. The goal is to focus on redundancy. Everything has their role, but probably can expand elsewhere should the plan go to hell.

Drop the extra armor and lascannons on the tanks, the demolisher will probably be moving 6 + D6 inches to get into demolisher cannon range and wont really have a need for it, the normal russ doesn't really need it either. Extra armor is expensive for something that does not really protect your tank from being destroyed.
One of your veteran squads could drop the GLs to take Meltas instead. You may want to consider dropping the autocannons too bc you will probably be moving around alot.
If the vendettas are coming in from reserves or outflanking get an astropath in your command squad.
Besides those ideas I had above this should be a pretty good army to use in a friendly match, your friends might think your three vendettas are a little cheap but whatever.
In a competitive match you would be severely lacking troop choices, but in a friendly match it doesn't really matter.

Your friendly lists include 3 Av14 vehicles and 3 Vendettas? Not sure how thats friendly.
Other than that, what RougePsyker said.
Mm, I guess my group is more competitive then I would have imagined. Running the Vendettas or AV14 is the commonplace.
Alright, tweaked it...well, quite a bit. Dropped a russ and a Vendetta, and even a veteran squad, but spread out more. Modified list above.

Looks good but this more of a mounted set up. If these guys are going to be hanging back and giving orders i'd consider a Heavy weapon of some sort.
Vets are cool and so are demolitions. They're a very suicidal unit though which means you'll have to decide whether to use them how you want to or keep them safe in objective games.
Platoon: I'd move some of the G-Launchers in the PCS to the Infantry squads. 4 Special weapons, even cheap ones, makes your command squad seem like a tempting target. Again, like the CCS, if these guys are for holding back with the Infatnry consider a heavy weapon.
Looks fine. Normaly i'd recommend Demolishers but your list has lots of AP2 blasts anyway so it's not really needed. If alot of your opponents use AV14 though i'd consider them as they're a good way to knock out AV14 from a distancce.
I would make the sentinels scout sentinels, they are cheaper and can outflank behind enemy armour.
