Not bad at all, I like this a lot. I would perhaps consider removing one of the Demolitions Vet squads and adding in a cheap Platoon instead. You could use some bodies to camp home objectives. You could even extend this further, by removing the other Demolitions Vet squad and replacing it with two Special Weapon Squads (with demo charges) to sit inside the Vendettas.

Let's be honest, when those vets pop out of the Vendettas to throw their demo charge, they're not going to survive for long afterwards anyway. SWS will get the job done just as well.

It's not a bad list, but I see some room for improvement.

    1) Marbo isn't as great in games over 1500 pts as he is in smaller games. His points could probably be better spent elsewhere.

    2) Too many Plasma Guns! Keep it to a single vet unit in a Chimera. Put them in reserve and let them smack things around when they come on. Meltas will work fine for everyone else.

    3) The best weapons for troops jumping out of Vendettas is 3 Flamers and a Demo Charge. 25-30 wounds on the drop versus T3 isn't unusual with that setup. Even TH/SS termies fear them.

    4) I always take one Demolisher, so that's cool. But consider trading the 2nd for a Vanilla Russ with a lascannon. The extra range and transport killing ability is very nice to have. Especially since you're a bit light on long-range AT.

    5) Even with a Vanilla Russ you only have the capability to kill about 2-3 light tanks/turn on turn 1. You really need the ability to kill at least 3-4. So with all your points saved I'd either put some Hydras in that last Heavy Support Slot or trade the Hellhound for a Leman Russ Eradicator and take some Autocannon Scout Sentinels instead.

I had thought about adding in some Sentinels with autocannons as i already have the models. I also agree with the SWS in the Vendettas as they willl die quickly. I really dont like blob squads but i do see the use for holding objectives in your home area. Im at work right now but i will go home and see what i can work with. I have been wanting to use hydras since ive seen them in the book but with out a GW model i cant afford the FW model. The whole army is renegade converted already and has been quite a money sink. Also i would like to keep Marbo as i have a Saul master sniper of the blood pact conversion i will be useing in his place.

Afterflipping some points around i came up with this

    HQ:
    CCS 4 meltaguns chimera -145

    Elites:
    Marbo -65

    Troops:

3x Vet squads 3 meltaguns chimera -155 each

2x Vet squads 3 Flamers Demolitions - 115 each (these go in the vendettas)

    Fast attack:
    Scout sentinel autocannon -40

    Vendetta Heavy bolter sponsons -140

    Vendetta Heavy bolter sponsons -140

    Heavy support:

Leman Russ Demolisher Hull lascannon -180

Leman Russ Demolisher Hull Lascannon -180

    Leman Russ Eradicator -160

I really want to drop marbo to add 1 more autocannon sentinel and a las cannon on the Eradicator but i cant bring myself to do it after converting the saul.

Much better, but you're still short on long range anti-tank. If you trade in Marbo and the heavy bolters on the Vendettas, you'll have enough points for 2 more autocannon sentinels. That would give you what you need.

If you can get the model, I would take another Vendetta. I love Hellhounds, but Vendettas the crap for Tourneys. Even with two Vendettas, you need to take an Astropath, which is manditory unless your dice gods can guarantee you always win first turn.

Marbo is nice, but in big tourneys you will play 33% or more Kill point games. Marbo is an easy KP for your opponents.

Below is a list I took to win Best General at a NW GT a month ago.

Much better!! The only thing I would change now is not dropping the Heavy Bolters on the Vendettas. They have been soooooo effective for me. I would change the Executioner for an Exterminator with Lascannon to save the points.

    Cheers, DH

The list i put up earlier wasnt right

    HQ:
CCS 4 meltaguns astropath -120 ( will go in the other vendetta)

    Troops:

3x Vet squads 3 meltaguns chimera -155 each

2x Vet squads 3 Flamers Demolitions - 115 each (these go in the vendettas)

    Fast attack:
    Vendetta -130

    Vendetta -130

    Vendetta -130

    Heavy support:

Leman Russ Demolisher Hull HF -165

    Leman Russ Demolisher Hull HF-165

    Leman Russ Executioner -190

This leaves me 25 points to play with. So that gives me heavy bolters on 2 Vendettas and 5 points to do something with.
