5 Assault Marines
The Sternguard and Lysander obviously go in the Landraider and try to close the enemy. The Vindicator also closes to get range while the Pred and heavy weapon marines give covering fire. The small Assault squad is to close with the rest and stay out of sight untill really needed. Used mainly as a counter attack or combat support.
I know this list will be very vulnerable against some armies (eg Tau) but any comments welcome.
PS- I was too lazy to post points as well, but it adds up to very close to 1650.
Odd point size for an army, but okay.
Lots of points invested in the Assault Squad + Chaplain and they don't really do anything useful here. The squad is too small to be a serious threat, even as a counter-attack unit.
I also think Sternguard are a poor choice for the Land Raider. What are you going to do, drive up to the enemy before jumping out and rapid firing for one turn? Then what? Die as everything nearby shoots back?
Lysander + Sternguard is a good combo, but a Land Raider is not. 10 Sternguard + Lysander + Drop Pod would be better.
I've played Lysander and the Sternguard in a Drop Pod before and as they only Drop Pod in the army, they come down in turn 1 and is either dead by turn two or terribly isolated and useless for the rest of the game. My hope is that by delivering them in a Landraider, they can be supported by it and the Assault marines.

Or you could run them in the Pod so that they get right into the thick of things, but also drop in some more support units. Consider running something like 3 pods, so you get 2 first turn. This will force your opponent to choose who to target, and take heat off of your stern squad. And I would consider running maybe some assault termies in the LR with a chaplain instead of the jump assaulters. To be honest, those guys are gonna get destroyed going across the board.
Or just the sternguard in a rhino, hide it behind a tactical marine one and use it to support them. (its this or drop pods, everything else is too iffy).
Right the list:
lysander + sternguard (although transport is an issue as mentioned)
tac squads, (can't go wrong with this)
vindicator (best heavy support choice for versatility and point efficiency)
5 man assualt squad and then wasted points on a chaplain for not much benefit.
Only one vindicator: PRIORITY TARGET, get a second one from points from landraider and maybe even a third from chaplain, although some may shout cheese at you.
Predator, only good against IG and eldar (footslogging), fail at everything else (including mech ig and mech eldar)
So lose chaplain, assault marines, predator, landraider. Get rhino for sternguard and another vindicator. Then look in the codex, more tacticals could work; so could landspeeders and/or attack bikes. These 350(?)pts are where you personalise the list and you can do whatever you want with them (just don't run vanguard).
Hope this helps.
