HQ: Get a standard, ditch the MOO as he rarely hits.
Troops: Platoon, OK if you add 4xpw to them and use them in combat but just flamers seems a little light on firepower. GLs will fire more often allowing the unit to front rank fire at long range with GLs contributing. Also you have plenty of flamers elsewhere in the army.
Vets should take 3 meltas. Not greeat putting flamers on BS4 models. Chimera is fine and it is the best place to get heavy flamers in a guard army. If you want more flamers consider 4 in the PCS and put it in a chimera.
Fast: HF sentinels are poor. Better to get chimeras for the CCS and PCS. The lascannon sentinel too won't last long either.
Heavy: drop lascannon on standard russ. On the demolisher flamer sponsons are rediculous. If you move you only fire one and so you are actually relying on a daft opponent to kindly move into HF range for you to use them. Take lascannon hull and no sponsons as the S9 and S10 weapons comopliment each other better for antitank. Plasma sponsons on the standard russ could be fun with the points saved.

well first off if ur unlucky with your MOO ur dice blow @$$ i hit safetly saying 80% of the time., i love flamers and so far they haven't let me down once, a couple of times against marines and chaos they don't do much other than that i loves them. The only reason the sentinels are in their is because im giving away free targets other than my tanks. If someone doesn't shoot at them i get a few free blasts in woop. Since this is a friendly and extremely not cheesy army which seems to be what your thinking on game play is hence friendly its fine the way it is lmao.
BTW chimeras blow ass i just happen to have one and i dont ever put people in them. Nobody around here plays objective battles so it's entirely pointless always annihilation. A leman russ with a lascannon is amazing! ur missing out on a great combination, especially since i use my demolisher to run up and destroy not sit back like a pussy lol.
hmm, first off I agree with everything said by Mad Cat, and if you are going to put up a list for critique its probably not the best thing to go out and disagree with everything that people have said in terms of advice.MOO, how exactly is this guy hitting 80% of the time, considering he ALWAYS scatters 2D6... please explain to me your miracuous ability to control ur dice, and claiming someone elses dice suck, cos really if you can control dice then I don't particularly think 40k is utalising your strengths, go to vegas mate! Seriously, it is a fairly common concensus that MoO is pretty damn inaccurate, and since it is a pieplate floating around you dont really want it scattering massively back on to your own troops, can be very effective, but is too unpredictable to be worth it.
Flamers are good, I personally run a similar squad, but if you are going that up close and personal I do like to add Pw to each sarg as was suggested, as you will end up in closecombat. Also suprises people a lot when your blob of guard charges and has 16+ pw attacks, plus all those regular attacks.
Chimeras are really good, if you are in a group which actually plays missions from the book rather than always annihilation (now by this I am assuming you mean kill points, rather than just a simple fight to the death) why your group does this I don't know, especially as KP mission is prob the hardest one for guard as we have quite a few 'squishy' squads like pcs, and usually a lot more kill points on the board. Objective missions are oftem more fun and challenging, and also in future if you are writing a list aimed for a specific game point, I suggest not assuming people can read your mind and then sarcasticly mock peoples suggestions. Oh, and Chimeras are awesome, you just have to look at the number of competative guard lists that are mech based.
The reason why the HF sponsons are ridiculous is exactly what you have said, you want to be moving this tank up and being agressive with it. If you move it it can't fire its sponsons, so unless you are hoping your enemy is nicely going to line up infront of your sponsons so you can flame them, you are going to have to move to get into a better firing position and then can fire the Demolisher cannon and ONE other weapon. Flamer sponsons are generally considered ridiculous for that reason. Even if the enemy was that close I would prob still want to move my tank to get the 4+ to hit in CC to protect it, rather than the possibly 2-3 extra hits each from the flamers in that position. Your use of the phrase sit back like a pussy just shows how silly your suggestions are and how little you understood the quality advice you were receiving! Standard demolisher load out is usually hull heavy flamer only, so you can move up, flame and pieplate, and have that added protection in combat. You could also go the way suggested, where you are using your demolisher for a more anti tank role, with the single las cannon, which can work together as well. The attack on the heavy flamers was against SPONSONS which are generally considered useless!
With the sentinels, considering you are playing a Kill point senario, and you yet seem blissfully happy to have these things easily die and give away KP to the enemy. Even if you have these sentinels, consider outflanking them and giving them autocannons or multilasers. This gives them a chance to get in on the side armour of vehicles with more shots than the lascannon so more likely to hit it, fire at infantry if necessary and on a more regular basis than the Heavy flamers, and the enemy can't easily avoid them like they can heavy flamers.Heavy flamer sentinels do have a place, but your logic you use is so increadibly flawed and bbacked by a level of arrogance that comes across in this situation I wouldn't recommend it.
As for the lascannon on the LRBT, I think the point was that giving it a lascannon deviates form its main purpose. The LRBT is one of the most efficient anti infantry units in the guard army, and prob the game. It is not however a superb anti-heavy-vehicle weapon as the battle cannon is only strength 8 so can't penetrate av14. Instead complementing it with 3 HB makes a formidable anti infantry platform, whilst saving you points for other bits of your army.
you are paying for veterans with an increased balistic skill, so why gove them special weapons that dont use it. Why not consider a special weapon squad with 3 flamers in it instead, its cheaper. or you could put some special weapons into your CCS and PCS, which could take 4 flamers each, or utilise the BS of the CCS and maybe give them Sniper rifles to complement the MoO if you want to take him.
I get your point that your saying, that this is a friendly list. As such your not all about the cheese and beating every opponent, but then at the same time, if 'its fine the way it is' and you don't want to change anything why post it? were you just hoping for some ego boosting comments of how good it is? Also, as a side note, Why does friendly have to mean rubbish? The most fun games I have fought have been where both sides are evenly balanced and so its a tough game, which doesn't necessarily mean underpowering your army deliberately.
actually no just straight up kill everyone, we've never played kill points, ontop of that the game story ive been playing at for just about 4 years is always straight up kill everything, never played akill points game. I've played a few missions and take and hold, but 99% of the time its just kill everything. My MMo almost always kills the unit i want it to? my average roll on two dice is...6 which when u minus the BS which you do in the new rules is only 3".... yeaaaa.... pretty sure the MMo is my favorite HQ add on
as far as sponsons being useles.. move your max 12 forward...sit there...oh geuss what im Imperial Guard... i can fire every weapon on my Leman Russ...hmmm... yeaaaaa sponsons are great, for 20pts im going to take them over anything there hasn't been a game wehere i haven't been able to use them... as far as the flamers on my Leman Russ...I love them, especially since two of the people I play use tyranid swarms and another one loves orcs...mmm bbq

Why would you post your list if your just going to complain every time someone makes a suggestion? Its not even a remotely good list so your obviously not posting it to show it off.
You should put meltas or plasmas in your vet squads.
You should put 3 HBs on your LRBT.
you shouldn't take sponsons on your LRD.
You should put GLs in your Infantry Squads, and maybe a ML/AC.
You shouldn't put lascannons or flamers on your sentinels.
im sorry u have a set way of doing things? this is the army i always use and i do fairly well thank you very much.

There isn''t a set way to play, but your list isn't very good and we're just trying to help you improve it. The changes we've suggested will improve your game, but you're just shutting it out.

I think all that needs to be said has been really. I am closing this thread, and you can consider this a warning. Act this way to my members again, and you will not be posting here for much longer. Madcat is a very intelligent player, and you'd have done well to heed his advice rather than counter him on everything, and what you said was uncalled for.
