Here is just a proposed army list I made for my Steel Legion Guard for small point games. Feel free to critique and what not ^^
Company Command Squad
-1x Autocannon team
Total- 60 points
-3x Grenade launcher
Total- 140 points
-2x Plasma gun
Total- 155 points
Total- 145 points
Total Army- 500 points
your a little light on the old anti tank, drop the 2 plasma guns for 3 melta's, then your all sorted, yes your losing 4 str 7 shots for 3 str8, but these ones can pop tanks better and dont kill your own men, and as most people keep over looking, how do you kill a land raider?
we recently had a campaign in my store starting at 500pts and adding 250pts every fortnight until it reached 2000, and at 500pts i was the only person who had a chance againt my mates landraider (tho i was using DE so most things are easy)
other than that nice list
Fantasy : Empire, Chaos Warriors, Chaos Daemons, Vampire Counts, Beastmen, High Elves, Lizardmen( but i have opinions on every army just not the money)
40k: Black Templars, Imperial Guard, Dark Eldar, Tau (thinking of Eldar)
I like that you included a hellhound at 500 points, that ought to make battling you interesting for any opponent. I agree with taking Meltas over Plasmas, anything that your plasmas are designed to kill can be ripped up by enough lasgun and multi-laser fire. The only downside to your army is the lack of bodies; even with what little experience i have I must say having lots of guard to soak up your opponents attacks is one of our greatest strengths. Then again with 3 vehicles on the board you may be able to draw enough of his fire away from your Infantry, all comes down to how you and your opponent play.
Mkay, thanks ^_^ I think that the Meltaguns may be actually a very smart choice.
