I have a battle coming up wth a friend who plays nids... As I'm sure you all are aware, nids are seriously tough to take down once they have you on the ropes, and even when you have the advantage they are still tough.
I've come up with this list to use they're weakness against them...
1st Infantry Squad-65
2nd Infantry Squad-65
Scout Sentinel-40 (Squadron)
Leman Russ Eradicator-160
Leman Russ Exterminator-210
Knight Commander Pask
Leman Russ Exterminator-150
The idea here if you couldn't tell is keeping as much inside vehicles as I could. Allowing me to plow through his stadard troops freely without fear... to make my way to his heavy stuff. Maybe tie up his guants with my Armored Sentinels stopping them cold. Kill the synapses creature near them and break his guants and sweep them off the table...
Let me know what you think???
Against nids I find plasma guns superior to meltas. Plasmas can fire ar long range and then rappid fire when the nids get in close. Veterans and CCS squads with 3-4 plasmas make short work of monsterous creatures especially with the bring it down order allowing you to reroll misses and overheats.
Meltas are good against warriors due to the instant kill but I think standard battle cannon can do that for you. With all the AC and HBs on the sentinels and sponsons I think you have the AP4 thing covered and suggest battlecannon are better at dealing wounds to warriors and zoanthropes. TMCs can be wounded by AP3 battlecannon too. If you like TL-AC for bug hunting then get squadrons of hydras.
