this is my 500 point guard list i'm using a lot at the moment, any comments very welcome i would like to know what "tweaks" some people would advise to make
Company Command Squad
Platoon command squad
2 grenade launchers
Infantry squad 1
Infantry squad 2
Infantry squad 3
Special weapons squad
2 melta guns
basic plan is that the 3 infantry squads blob up and the commisar keeps them together, this unit can hold the line and act as tar-pits and even seize enemy objectives they're supported by the special weapons squad and PCS the CCS and veteran squad hold back in my deployment zone holding objectives and shooting transports etc. At the begining of the game they'll be helped by the PCS
HQ: Take 3-4 GLs instead as it keeps the squad mobile. Add a standard to keep the troops happy.
Troops: PCS cannot mob up so move the PF to the commisar. SWS will be gunned down before reaching a target so swap for another squad.
Could drop the SWS for a chimera for the PCS and give them 3-4 flamers and a HF on the chimera hull.
Vets: Vets should take plasma guns if you keep cammo as they have better range. If you want to advance with them to use meltas then carapace is better. Drop the heavy weapon on them too if you do this.
