As I said, this is my first time to create 40k army, so you are open for comments of all types. Here's the army>
- Captain - 165
power fist, plasma pistol, jump pack
- Sanquinary guard - 280
all have power fist, chapter banner
- terminator assault squad (5+ sergeant) - 240
- Tactical squad (10+ sergeant) - 205
meltagun, lascnannon, sargent carries chainsword and power fist
- Assault squad (4+ sergeant) - 125
sergeant carries power fist
- Rihno - 60 (storm bolter)
- Land rider - 260 (storm bolter)
5) Heavy support
- Baal predator - 145
flamestorm cannon, side sponsons with heavy bolters
Sanguinary Guard don't need more then 1 powerfist, they have S6 weapons. The Assault Squad needs to be increased in size, 5 Marines won't do much but die.
Worst case scenario, drop the Guard and put in a second Assault squad, full stregth.
A moment of laxity spawns a lifetime of heresy.
Never forgive, never forget.
Striking last is a bit of a bummer with Captains. Init 5 is very handy to have around so i'd go with something like lightning claws instead. up to you though.
Sang Guard are pretty expensive already so giving them all powerfists is just silly and unnecessary. 1 Powerfist is enough but I think you'd be better off taking an Assault squad and beefing up the 5 Man Assault squad you already have.
Terminators are alright. Are you not taking any storm shields? 2 or 3 would be handy to take the hurt from Power weapons.
A few sang Priests in here to make your assault units shine would be nice.
Tactical squad looks fine. If you're looking for an extra 10 pts from somewhere drop the Lascannon to a M-Launcher.
Assault squad: These guys should idealy be 10 man. If these guys take 2 or 3 casulaties their effectiveness is seriously cut. I'd also consider some Meltaguns for tank killing.
Ditch the Storm Bolters off the transports. They're not needed.
Baal is fine
I would drop the Captain altogether for a Reclusiarch, can't get much better for the points. Attach this guy to the Terminators.
Sang. Guard are not all they are cracked up to be, I would drop them and use the points elsewhere. *Note: They do not strike at Str6, it says that they are Two-Handed MC-PwrWpns, nothing about +2 str.*
Assault Terminators are good, drop the squad to 5-strong, and do a 2 TH/SS + 3 LC or all TH/SS.
I would also suggest trying to fit in a Sang. Priest or two in here. Keep them simple maybe only giving them a PwrWpn, they are very fragile and a high prioriety Independant Character that can be singled out in Assault, so keep them cheap.
There is really almost no reason to take a Tactical Squad in BA's. If you just want an objective sitter, take the jump packs off an Assault squad for the discount and get a cheap rhino.
I would try to get 1-2 10-strong Assault Squads w/ Meltas + P.Fist. If you are going to keep an assault squad at 5-strong switch the P.Fist to a PwrWpn.
Also agree with ditching the Storm Bolter on the transports. On your Sgts. give them B.Pistol+P.Fists, don't do the Chainsword+P.Fist you will lose a ranged attack and it won't give you an extra attack in CC.
Baals are great, but I would suggest possibly switching it to TL-Assault Cannon and Hvy.Bolter sponsons, and getting 2 of them.
