Alright mate, Welcome to the second best army out there!! Space Marines are such a diverse army it's pretty hard to tell you what units you should take as it really depends on what type of force you want.

You can do fully Mechanised, tactical squads in Rhinos supported by Predators, Vindicators and Bikes. This is probably the easiest to use and one of the most successful.

You can do a pure bike army, Very fast, very tough, very nasty, very low on model count so you need to be careful. It's less forgiving than Mechanised lists but is probably even more nasty when it works.

Infantry lists. Few and far between nowadays. They're still do-able but 40k is all about tanks so doing pure infantry is a struggle right from the get go. they can still hold their own though (I just trashed a Mechanised list with a foot slogger list)

Or you can do a mix of the above, taking units that appeal to you.

At this moment in time, set yourself a points size for your army (1000 is a good start) make a list of what you have and what you want in your force and then put that list up here and we can actually get something we can comment on. Also, have a quick peek at some other lists people have put up here and the advice thats been given. Good luck what ever you end up doing.
