Hi everyone, this is my first list for space marines and mainly kinda going off a skirmish format that me and my friends play. Most of them have little to no heavy mech. Mainly playing against orks, IG , necrons and other space marines. this is more kinda a utility list but still new to space marines so any help would be welcomed.
HQ: Space Marine Captain w/ Boltgun, Powersword 115
Troops: Tactical Squad 10 troops w/Flamer, Missile Launcher, Sergeant has chainsword 170
Scout Squad w/ 3 snipers, 1 missile launcher,Sergeant Telion and all have camo cloaks 137
Elites: 5 Terminators 200
Fast Attack: 5 Assualt Marines, sergeant w/ Power axe,combat shield ,meltabomb 125
I have the AoBr box set and just got assault marines and like the lore on them so want to try to keep them in there. With the scout squad i could take out the missile launcher for another sniper but basic plan for them is to advance deploy in cover then poach up and shoot anything that steps into the fire lanes. Use my tac squad to advance up a flank with my assault squad in support& anti-tank duty and then use the terminators to hold down the other flank. my captain would kinda be deployed wherever he is needed.
Some tidbitz from meThe Librarian really is a better HQ for small point games. If you want the captain, bolt pistol and relic blade is good and pretty cheap.HQ: Space Marine Captain w/ Boltgun, Powersword 115Ok. I would give the sergeant a PW or PF. If you want the tactical squad to advance with the ASM, you really need to get them a transport. If they are vanilla, give them a heavy weapon. Cyclon launcher or assault cannon are good. (a Librarian with gate and 5 vanilla termies with a assault can be fun)Elites: 5 Terminators 200Not my favorite unit, but they are OK. You should buff the number up if you can. yeah the termies are straight vanilla. I also considered the librarian for games but have never used a caster before. I used to play IG before the new codex and just had straight infantry w/ tank army. so yeh my experience with any sort of spells in 40k is nothing. although for the points it seems it would be more cost efficient to go with the librarian
