I have a Blood Angels army but find myself wanting to deep strike everything and just charge at the enemy; therefore I have created my own sub-chapter, The Angels of Death.
- Only Jump Pack Infantry may be taken
- All units have Rage
Astorath the Grim
5x Death Company w/ Jump Packs
(5 squads of) 6x Assault Troops - Sarge has meltabombs and 1 model has meltagun
5x Vanguard Veteran - all with Jump Packs and meltabombs
All units stay in reserve, and deep strike with decent of the angels. Astorath with buffed DC deep strike to assault range against HQ or needtokill enemy squad. Vanguard veteran deep strikes and assaults vehicle or high profile target. 5 assault squads deep strike to objectives, or within assault range of vehicles or units to tie up.
I think there's enough anti-tank/heavy for 1250 pt, and think this army should do rather well even with my restrictions.
My biggest concern is Astorath instead of a Captain and 5 more assault troops. I think Astorath is the right choice with my jump pack army; his boost to Red Thirst and his DC buff seem too powerful.
Input and advice welcome
You seem to have 10 troops, I don't think thats legal (unless death company don't count towards the FOC, but I thought they did).
It's 6 troop...
1 squad of death company, with 5x models
5 squad of assault troop, with 6x models each
Oh yes now I understand. Vanguard in 1250pts is ... interesting, but I think you could pull it off. More importantly Astorath, although awesome, is a large chunk of your army at this point level , maybe consider dropping him for a cheaper hq (chaplain/reclussiarch with a jump pack) and getting some power weapons in the assualt marine squads (to deal with MEQs and TEQs) would help.
