    750 pts mechanized guard

    Here's my first attempt at a mechanized list:

    CCS: x3 melta, dedicated chimera with hull heavy flamer
    Guardsman Marbo
    Veteran Squad: x3 melta, dedicated chimera with hull heavy flamer
    Veteran Squad: x3 plasma
    Valkyrie: multiple rocket pods
    Leman Russ Battle Tank

    I honestly would like to take a Vendetta with sponson heavy bolters instead of the valkyrie, but as it is I cannot figure out what best to cut in order to do this.

    I would say cut marbo... but he's just so damn lethal in such small point games.

    If you have your heart set on a vendetta, I would suggest dropping a melta from one of the squads, 2 meltas should really kill anything they can throw at you in 750 points games.

    Alright, as you can see I've already cut a melta from the command squad for points. No reason not to cut another. I think the vets need their meltas more, since they are one of my two troop choices and I want them alive to grab objectives.

    Removing a melta doesn't reduce survivability, meh... just swap the valk for a vendetta without heavy bolters, its nice to have them if you have the spare points, but you don't NEED them.

    I think you are putting too much faith into large templates, Marbo is awesome, the Russ is ok, but the Valk is overkill at this point level...

    You only have two scoring units as well...

    If i may, here is a list I roll with at this point level that you might want to consider...

    Primaris Pysker-70 (rides with 1st Vet)

    Marbo-65

    1st Vets-165
    X3 Meltaguns
    Chim (ML-HF-HKM)

    2nd Vets-170
    X3 Plasma Guns
    Chim (ML-HF)

    PCS-130
    X3 Meltaguns
    1 Flamer
    Chim (ML-HF-HKM)

    1st Inf-75 (moves with PCS's tank close enough for FRSR order)
    Plasma Pistol
    Plasma Gun

    2nd Inf-75 (sits on home objective)
    Lascannon
    GL

    You only really need one large template for 750, and Marbo fills that roll nicely... but mobility wins battles... and with you pushing forward with 90% of your force, you'll over whelm the enemy...

    My suggestion is to trade the Valk for 3 Scout Sentinels with Autocannons too give you long range Anti-Tank. Use the extra 10 pts to fill out the CCS' 4th melta.

    Don't bother with Valks/Vendis until at least 1500 pts.

    Alright, I'm trying to incorporate as many of all of your ideas here at once, and I am a little attached to at least trying out a Russ, so:

    Primaris Psyker
    Veteran Squad – x3 melta, shotguns
    Chimera – hull heavy flamer, turret multilaser
    PCS – x3 flamers (Primaris attached here)
    Chimera – hull heavy flamer, turret multilaser
    SWS – demo charge, x2 melta
    Chimera – hull heavy flamer, turret multilaser
    Infantry Squad – grenade launcher
    Infantry Squad – grenade launcher, autocannon
    Leman Russ Demolisher – hull heavy flamer, pintle heavy stubber

    As above, one squad advances with the tanks to take orders from the PCS, the other hangs back on an objective.

    just wondering....Why take the Primaris Psyker?

    The Pskyer Battle Squad is definitely a bit better for less points, but it does leave you HQless...

    My original comment was to point out that the chosen HQ is relatively useless when compared to other units. The comment was meant to offer another way create the army list so it incorporated the improved psyker battle squad. As such below

    CCS (145 Pts)
    -HF/ML Chimera, x4 Melta

    Psyker Battle Squad (80 Pts)
    - 6 Psykers

    Veteran Squad (155 Pts)
    - HF/ML Chimera, x3 Melta

    PCS (105 Pts)
    -HF/ML Chimera, x4 Flamer

    x2 IS (110 Pts)
    - GL

    Leman Russ Dem (155)
    - HB (No Sponsons)

    You can drop two psykers from the squad if you want to add HB spons to the LRD.



    This army should satisfy the "whole legal list thing"
