Vanilla Marines 1500pts what you think?

    HQ
    Captain-Powersword, jumppack- 140pts

    ELITES
    Dreadnought-Assault Cannon-115pts
    Dreadnought-Plasma Cannon-115pts
    5 Man Sternguard - 125pts

    TROOPS
    10man tac squad-Missile Launcher, Plasma Rifle-180pts
    10man Scout Squad-5 snipers, Missile Launcher, 5 Camo Cloaks-165pts
    10man Scout Squad-5 snipers, Heavy Bolter, 5 Camo Cloaks-165pts

    FAST ATTACK
    10man Assault Squad-Powerweapon-195pts

    HEAVY SUPPORT
10man Dev Squad- 2 Missile Launchers, 2 Heavy Bolters- 230

    =1430pts total

56 Units, and 2 Walkers. split the Snipers up from the standard Scouts, infiltrate the bolter scouts in to cause early DMG and to soften up the line a bit. Marines to split and hold guarding flanks for the infiltrated scouts. Dreads Move up Flanks. Devs Split to give as much cover fire as possible(being 1ml and 1hb per group) and go figure, split the assualt squads up 1 to hang back and make sure those pesky deepstrikers, and the other to hook up with the captain and move forwards to hold the center of the map. *shrugs* basically everyone should be covered, hiding in cover, and plodding forwards.

Havnt tested it out yet, buuut id like some feed back hopefully before i do so, so that i can make some changes here or there. =) thanks guys

HQ: Get a chaplin. Not quite as good stats as the captain but he makes the entire squad (including himself) reroll hits. He also gets the PW for free.

Elites: Dreads are ok but the sternguard on foot won't last. You have points spare so a drop pod or razorback here would do well. Having rhinos/razorbacks also takes some of the pressure off the dreads by giving the enemy antitankers more choice of targets.

Troops: ok. Get a PW on the combat squadded scouts with close in firepower. A LSS for one of them could be fun as you can get a first turn charge with them.

Fast: Good. Adding a flamer or two can help if you have points left over at the end.

Heavy: I really don't rate devastators. Expensive, not scoring and too static. Swap them for a tac squad and an attack bike or two with MM.

Good Point about the Chaplain. it would be a bit cheaper and free up some points, and yea. agree about the Devestator squad being too static, hm Predators and whirlwinds i like as well. *thinks* ouch.. ill take another look and post up an updated list =) thanks Mad Cat. (haha inspector Gadget)
