    1k tourney list dont have much to work with

    this is my list 4 tourney(not overly competetive)

    HQ

    Marneus Calgar w/ Termi Armour 265pts

    Elites

    Termi Squad - 6 240pts

    Dreadnought - 105pts

    Troops

    Tac Squad - 10 w/ Flamer,ML 170pts

    Tac Squad - 10 w/ Flamer,ML 170pts

    Scout Squad - 5 w/ 3 bolters,heavy bolter, sergant w/ cloase combat weapon and bolt pistol

    1k pts with

    25 infantry
    6 termies
    1 walker

    what do u guys think?

    what's your strategy for this army? it seems extremely static, which you do not want to do with Marneus Calgar on the table. do you plan to deep strike, or just run your termies across the table?

    Right, I'm going to be slightly harsh as this is for a tournament.

    Your list is lacking a model count, offensive firepower and mobility.

    hq
    Calgar is too many points at this level, drop him for a chaplain/librarian (no upgrades) for the terminators.

    Elites
    Terminator Squad: Lose the 6th man and add a cyclone missile launcher (if you don't have it just find somehting that resembles a missile and stick it on a model). This gives this unit the ability to pop transports whilst advancing (against a mech army, which tournament armies normally are, you're terminators would never reach anything).
    Dreadnought: Alright but I prefer shooty ones (2 TL autocannons or a TL autocannon and assualt cannon).

    Troops
    If you can add meltaguns (in case somebody runs a LR). Drop the scout squad and buy two rhinos/razorbacks (your choice), one for each squad.

    Use the spare points from Calgar to add (pick your favourite):
    3 attack Bikes
    2 Landspeeders (either typhoons, or multi-melta/heavy flamer)
    Vindicator (I suggest you don't choose this one, vindicators work best in pairs).
    Another dreadnought.

    That will make your list half-decent. It won't win, but it'll do alright (probs). (tournament list would have 2/3X5 tacticals in razorback and then spamming rifleman dreds and landspeeders).

    Half your points are bound up in Marneus and a Termie squad. That makes half of your army hard to move and vulnerable to getting screwed with ranged fire without being able to score. Then your Tac squads have no transports. Fielding named characters and terminators are both risky propositions at the 1000pt mark. Whatever else you do, make sure to mechanise the tac squads. Get rid of the scouts, they're doing you no good.
