Hi there I would very much appreciate some help creating a armylist based on the Catachan special charecters, Straken, Harker, Marbo and Nork (well Nork isnt exactly Catachan but still). My inspiration is Vietnam movies, so I thought Catachan would be a good choice. This is my first try at writing a guard armylist so any help would be greatly appreciated! And as you can see it desperetly needs trimming down to 2000 pts and I would also appreciate any suggestions for 1500 pts.

- Add a commissar or two for the blobs, maybe a Priest. Use Straken to his best, since you're paying for him
- Maybe drop the Leman Russes for some Hydras?
- Drop Heavy Bolters from Vendettas
- Drop Nork
- Lose the medic maybe? It's such a small squad and they're still only T3 5+

I was thinking of a slogging force with vehicles/tanks as support.
Straken's rules are best suited for a CC & slogging list, so I'd drop the chimera. I love Nork and his fluff, but his points can be better spent elsewhere. I'd drop the medic too, as I never found him to benefit a force. Arm the guardsmen with flamers and/or meltaguns. I have no idea what "MoF" means, hehe.
I love Marbo, and think he's perfect for your idea. He's usually a one-hit-wonder but with all those guardsmen running around, he should stay alive til the end of the game.
Drop the chimera from the PCC, and the autocannon from the IS. Spread around those power weapons, flamers, and/or meltaguns. Also add commissars for that extra leadership "boost", hehe. Priests wouldn't hurt either.
Though I don't play with special characters, I'm still going to suggest some improvements with Harker's veteran squad. Continuing with my slogging idea, drop the autocannon, give a model a power weapon, and give the other guardsmen flamers and/or meltaguns. I'd also go as far as giving the squad "demolitions" for the demo charge.
I'll stick with the veterans in the assault carriers, but make them valkyries with the rocket pods and HB sponsons. I like making the best out of my transports, since I want them to do lots of damage til they explode
Fast Attack :
I'd only take one or two "naked" vendetta gunships. Outflank them to try and pop a tank or two before they get popped. Its as far as anyone gets them.
Scout sentinels with autocannons. Maybe.
Hellhounds or bane wolves. Maybe.
I'd stick with LRDs, for the extra AP against marines. HF in the hull, and HB sponsons.
