Hi there! Well, I'll go ahead and throw in my thoughts about your list, then show you my 500pts. I'm not big on Vox casters personally, especially in small games. I also feel your CCS could use some special weapons to get good use out of their BS4. Vendettas are really dirty at 500pts, I'm happy to see one in there. Other than that, at 500 points you don't have alot of room to replace things, so I'll leave it at that.
My 500pts consists of a CCS w/4 meltas in a chimera, 1 vet squads w/3 flamers and a chimera, 1 vet squad w/3 flamers, and a vendetta. Throw the vet squad into the vendetta and I'm good to go! At 500pts it's hard to deal with all that armor, or maybe I just really like multilasers so having two of them makes me happy.
First off, don't post individual costs of every upgrade, it's against the forum rules: http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...ing-rules.html

Ahh I apologize about the upgrade cost I've seen them in other posts so thought they were aloud I will remove them at once. Also to the point of adding all the chimeras and turning my CCS into a chimelta squad, I havn't got the money to buy my own models so these are what I'll be getting for xmas or buying them with my birth day money so I'm keeping the army cost low(ish) and I'm not wanting to just spam units.
Ive also taken out the heavy bolters on the Vendetta and the Hunter-Killer Missiles on the Sentinels. I'll be updating the army list later to compensate for the the extra points, I'll be keeping the flamers however due to the fact of my main opponent being nids I'll have a close range anti-horde weapon(flamer) and a mid range anti-horde weapon(nade launchers) that can also attack any MC or tanks in-case my Vendetta gets shot down.

Thanks for everyone who has posted, but I have decided to go to my second army choice which is Tau due to model costs.
One thing guard have in their favour regarding cost is that you can proxy a lot of non GW models and they look convincing.
F.E. Wargames Factory Troopers are popular, but pretty much any 28mm scale figs will look good. Given they are just guys with guns there are a lot of options for a "budget" guard army from napoleonic to world war through to scifi ranges. You're just going to face problems if you try to play at places where you need to have true GW stuff.
I'd price up several options, Tau aren't exactly cheap either thanks to their expensive suits. Proxying is worth considering if money is tight.
