    BA 2K Predator Heavy Just For Fun

    I was bored at work so I came up with a just for fun list and thought I would share it with everyone on LO. Feel free to tear it apart and what not. Again this list is just for fun, no tournament thoughts. lol.

    It's not bad, but I'm pretty concerned with AT. It's main source of AT is by putting its troops in the assault range of the enemy. I think you want to try to destroy some tanks from range so that when your assault marines get there, they have someone to assault and lock in combat, preventing them from getting shot to death.

    The main idea was to use the baal preds as a tank wall with the regular preds providing firing support. basically move 12", fire the Assault cannons turn 1 and on turn 2 only move 6", have the ASM jump over the tank wall and then unleash a mass of firing/Assault. I think that would get the ASM into combat with only a few casualties considering they will be benefiting from a 3+/4++ thanks to the tanks.

    For AT all the AC have rending, which, considering there are 3 of them should be able to take down most Tanks or at least draw the fire from the ASM who have the real punch with Meltaguns. Mephiston should be able to soak up some tank fire as well.

    I am trying to overwhelm the opposition with the sheer number of units. forcing him to concentrate on 1 or 2 units.

    The other option is to drop the scouts and add TLLC to 2 of the regular preds.

    The two predator types are better suited as anti-infantry tanks. 12 S6 rending shots and 6 autocannon shots isn't really a whole lot of AT. I think that the heavy preds are better off with autocannon+lascannon sponsoons. Unfortunately, to do that, you're either going to have to sacrifice the scout squad or downgrade Mephiston to a cheaper HQ, but I think you probably want to keep him.

    True True! Mephiston is a beast. not only does he own in CC but he also has an intimidation factor to him as well.

    I am thinking that dropping the scouts is going to work (mostly because I dont have them, yet), especially in order to add AT.
