Just thought of a list, wanted to know what people thought.
Vulkan He'Stan 190
Librarian - Null Zone, Might of the Ancients 100
Tactical - PF, Combi-Melta(CM), MG, PC 215
Razorback - TL-PG&LC 75
Tactical - PF, F, MM 195
Tactical - PF, PG, PC 210
Assault Terminators - SS, TH 200
Sternguard - 6 CM, 4 CF 300
Drop Pod 35
Land Raider Crusader - EA, MM 275
Predator - HB's 85
Predator - HB's 85
15 Kill Points
5 tanks, 1 drop pod
In almost all case, the Sternguard drop and combat squad into twoa nd hopefully blow two tanks up, or if there aren't tanks put all the flamers in one squad and burn the crap out of something, while the other shoots. Vulkan, Librarian and Termies in LRC rush the board. Generally will be using Null Zone to hopefully help the termies kill shit, and or the plasma cannons kill stuff. First tactical combat squads, Sergeant and MG go in razorback and move up board shooting, coming out if needed to pop something/capture. Rhino squad races with land raider. last Tactical sits back on objective and fires cannon. Predators sit back and blast away.
Marines AND Guard? You're as bad as me.
I like the list. Really, I do! It's a very in your face, brutal list and I like those sort of lists. The only thing that I'd change is the librarian. I just don't think you need him. Thunder Hammer Termies don't need help killing stuff and not many things have invulnerable saves. You might be better off just buying 2 more terminators or 2 speeders with M-Meltas.
Which leads me onto.....
I think you could do with some more antitank. Most of your stuff is up close and brutal which leaves you little to knock out enemy fast tanks like Falcons or Hammer Heads. You could always turn the Dakka Preds into AC/LC Preds instead to solve this or add some cheap M-Melta Speeders to chase them down.
Haha, Borak I have more then just Marines and Guard(my time as a GW employee saw my collection dramatically increase...touche the pay-checks went right back to the store...lol).
As per the Librarian, as mentioned he is there to help with the re-rolling invuls, but also there for some psychic defense. I know the C: SM librarian aiint the best psychic hood, but people are using tons of powers no adays, with librarian dreadnoughts, and lash princes, he's there to help stop some of those powers. I would never consider removing him from the LR unless it blows up and hes forced to, to help with the range on his 24" powers. But, like all people have probably fought, I fought a Eldrad on the weekend, and because I couldn't stop Fortune, he survived 7 rounds of powerfists/assault cannons/multimeltas/ everything my army had and it was awful. I want to be able to stop silly stuff like that.
I hear you on the anti-tank side, thats why hopefully the sternguard are going to be able to kill the big stuff and not have to worry about much more anti-tank. But when it comes to killing Hammerheads and Falcons, i find the Predators will do as good a job as anything else. Why spend twice as much on a laspred to loose 1 point of strength when fighting eldar
Damn Eldar. I hate them. I hate them almost as much as their 70's dress sense.
Sternguard are also a bit of a one hit wonder. Lots of one shot weapons are just that, one shot so after the drop their tank killing role is done. In an ideal world i'd still take some back up like M-Melta Speeders or Attack bikes but the choice is yours at the end of the day.
