HQ: Sanguinor is good but expensive I would probably drop the second HQ to keep your model count up. Actually a librarian with the preferred enemy psi power beats chaplins by having the effect even if you don't charge and on enemy turns. He also provides psyker defence with the hood and gets a second power.

Elites: Preists are great. Like the Sang guard. Drop the honourguard. You know that sanguinor cannot join the honourguard unit right?

Troops: Whack them up to 10 each with 2 meltas.

My list = Sanguinor, 2x5 Sang guard, 2 priests, 3x10 assault marines. 1500.

Hey, cheers for the reply :-)

I didn't realise Sanguinor couldn't team up with the honor guard lol...no point taking them now! Can he go with some Sang Guard?

That looks like some solid adjustments - I was a bit concerned about my squad strength tbh...

Think I'm gonna run with the list you suggested - many thanks!

Sanguinor is a one-model unit, not an Independent Character. He can't join anything.

Along with Mad Cat's advice, you might want to swap an Assault Squad for a Tactical Squad. They're a better choice for holding a home objective and a Tactical lascannon would help crack open transports for charges. Alternatively, keep the Honor Guard and give them plasma guns. That way, they're a mini-Devastator unit; have them light up a target and then charge with a different unit, one you've kept close enough to benefit from their non-Independent Character Priest.

Hmmm...you've now given me more to think about...

tactical squad sounds good...the plasma squad, I kinda like - but I'm distateful of plasma for some reason I never tend to take it in my armies...

Plasma is usually a liability, but with FNP it's not too bad.

Yes. Both of them are non-IC single model units. That can not join a unit or be joined by an IC.
