playing around with the new Codex, this is what I came up with. Not supposed to be hypercompetitive.
Strike Squad (295p)
- Master-crafted Sword
- Might of Titan, Warp Rift, The Shroud, The Summoning
- 2x Servo-skulls
Terminator Squad (225p)
- 10 Knights
- Master-crafted Daemonhammer
- 2x Psycannons
- Psybolt Ammo
Purgation Squad (150p)
- 5 Terminators
- 3x Halberds
- 5 Knights
- 4x Incinerators
- Razorback with Psybolt Ammo
- Warp Stabilisation Field
- Psybolt Ammo
- Assault Cannon
It comes at 990 points. What to do with the remaining 10? I was thinking at a Hunter Killer Missile or a Stormbolter on the Rhino, but that's basicly a quick way to get rid of the leftover points. But anyways, what do you think? Comments are more than welcome.
I really like your list, it's pretty balanced and you have enough fire-power.
You might want to try and give the dread 2 twin-linked autocannons with psybolt ammo,
they work really well against light armoured vehicle's
Purifiers > Purgation Squad. Purgation squads are just expensive grey knights with astral aim (which I doubt you'll use). Get Purifiers. Cheaper and more effective.
Bit confused there, pal.
Anyways, I understand about the Dread, but i know that you know that it's not all about your favorite models. If I had a GK army full of Assassins (which I can't ) I would lose. Doesn't the dreanought has an incinerator as an option as well?
That's just me.
I see your point, in the end it depends on how competitive you want to be I guess.
The Dread has no Incinerator upgrades, it has however the option to take a TL heavy flamer or a normal one with the fist.
Oh, I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong idea. Not incinerator, Heavy flamer. My codex isn't near me at the moment.
And about Purgation and Purifier. They're cheaper if you bring them in default. Look at their options. Purifiers either get some of them for free or for cut price. Therefore, Purifiers instead if you are expecting many upgrades.
And may I ask why you master-crafted the HQ's sword, and brought in 2 servo-skulls? There must some some reason.
Purifier are 120 where purgation are 100, both get incinerators for free. And you shouldn't look down on flamers, I have with 4 normal flamers against a horde of orks caused 32 wounds, wiping them out. With 4 incinerators you'll wound most everything on a 2+ and ap4 can help too.
Have you read the rules for servo-skulls? They mess with the enemy's infiltrators and scout move, 5pts each is worth it to keep from being assaulted 1st turn. They also help with deep striking and most of his army can deep strike.
I think you have a good list, although I will to say you should make your dread a psyrifledread, GKs are in need of long range anti-tack weapons and it's hard to beat.
Someone who scouts his army. Ah right here, with my IG if I get 1st turn I can easily take out a tank or another unit before they do anything thanks to a scout move. I also play a number of people that have scouts in their army, if I have the points I use servo-skulls just in case. As for the looking down on flamers, well it's the way you said he should scrap his idea. The upgrades he wanted were free to both unit types only purifiers can't take as many and cost more for the setup he wants. Sounded, to me at lest, that you were saying forget the extra incinerators cos, for what... having an few extra attacks in CC, when the point of it was to do lots of damage before CC. I didn't mean to insult you or anything so please don't that it that way.
