Welcome to Librarium Online!
HQ 1: Grandmaster
HQ 2: Coteaz
Elites 1: 10 Paladins
Elites 2: 10 Purifiers
Elites 3: 5 Purifiers
Troops 1: 10 Acolytes, power armour and bolters
Troops 2: 10 Acolytes, power armour and bolters
Allow me to explain my reasoning for the acolytes
For 150 points 10 acolytes have 10 wounds at 3+ save,
whilst for the same points, 5 purifiers have only 5 wounds at the same save,
the purifiers have far greater offensive capability, but as the comparison illustrates the acolytes soak up twice the damage for their points cost.
This has lead me to conclude that the two will combine harmoniously to create a force which is greater than it's parts. For if the acolytes stand in front of the GK, the enemy are forced to take morale checks to target the GK, or otherwise to shoot the acolytes, either way im at an advantage. The effect is to reduce the fire falling on my GK. Im foot slogging so this is especially usefull. This is only an untried theory at the moment as im waiting for the above army to arrive in the post, but im gona give it a shot and see how it goes. Thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Also Id greatly appreciate some advice on arming up my grand master.
- Im thinking halberd but what about the stave for the master?
- I dont know wether a psycannon is worth 45points?
- What grenades are worth taking?
i will be filling my 5 purifiers to 10 btw,
obviously grand master would make 3 elites scoring units.
and would give the acolytes storm bolters if i could find them for sale, any help with that would be great.

Where to start... well firstly you don't need to do a morale test anymore to shoot at a further away unit.
Secondly, you only have 1/3 chance of having those 3 elite as scoring.. I would hope for 3, assume for 2 and bank on 1.
Thirdly.. this army is completely unbalanced and would generally get tabled for many reasons.
(you haven't given us any details to your list other than the unit types and size so I'm going off what i've got.)
1. No transports - How will you claim anything or maneuver?
2. SOO many points on the paladins, are these guys walking or in transports (if in transports what as this will determine size.) Because you have so many points on this unit an opponent will just avoid it if they can and put everything on the rest of your army.
3. Acolytes... what is the point in these guys? Are they there to claim objectives? They are terrible at everything (no good at shooting [bolters arn't great] or c/c.) Although you get more saves at least GKSS or Pures would be taking down the enemy with shooting, scarying them with c/c.. possibly using warp quake etc. If your wanting cheap scoring, make them dirt cheap.. power armour makes them pretty expensive for what they are doing.
Grandmaster... He is best with the sword as it gives him a 3++ in c/c. Don't give him anything fancy but maybe mastercrafting his weapons and giving him grenades.
Psychostropic are awesome fun.
Rad are very well worth the points.
Blind grenades are almost a must.
If you post a more accurate list, we can get a bit more specific.
Much must be risked in war.
Blood Angel Stormraven Conversion Work In Progress.
Like Lord Lucias said, no transports or gear listed, so we will need more info.
I personally will give my GM a MC sword, digital weapons, and if you have points for it an incinerator, its only 5 more points, cheapest ranged upgrade.
First of all thanks for the advice on the Grandmaster, I was thinking of all those grenades and will probably go with a sword in line with your advice.
I agree, the list was a waste of time overall, im sorry to have posted it, feel free to save wasting any more of your time by reading my explanation below.
Ive got the GK in the list coming in the mail soon, which I bought as a core force, and ive got 20 marines from an old army,
Ive got no money to buy any transports or dreads till next week so i'll be having a few games with my brother who has no tanks or fast units anymore coz he broke 'em.
I guess the lack of transports etc in the list would have made more sense if i'd explained that, but I made the post mainly wanting some opinions on the potential utility of power armour acolytes in any GK army, and simply didnt think to explain the list even half properly.
Of course i am developing my 'complete' list with transports and long ranged support etc which im now just finalising.
I agree that lower point models would be far better for soaking up fire, but as I said I had the marines sitting their and need to make up some points for some quick games, and of course they have bolters coz Ive got nothing else to give 'em.
Being a relative noob I wondered wether their 2:1 wound-point ration would make the acolytes a useful addition in my lil starter force or any other, now I see that they are not worth even considering without 3 multimeltas and a transport.
Anyway once ive got the rest of my army I won't need them to make up points and I wont be using them in any manner. And so ends another hour of 'Wasting Time with Kinmitsubatchi!'
