I have been away from Warhammer for a while, I played Dwarfs in Fantasy but had to stop due to College. I am looking to get back into the game, this time with Space Wolves in 40k. This is the first army list that I have put together for 40k so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Wolf Lord - 255
wolf-tail talisman, wolf tooth necklace, thunderwolf mount, storm shield, thunder hammer, saga of the warrior born
Runepriest - 195
terminator armor, chooser of the slain, wolf tail talisman, master of runes, living lightning, murderous hurricane, saga of the beastslayer
Wolf Guard Pack - 455
Two in power armor and three in terminator armor, one terminator has a combi-meltagun and one has a cyclone missile launcer. The two wolfguard in power armor will split off to lead the two sqauds of grey hunters and the three terminators will accompany the Rune Priest in a land raider. This unit has a land raider as a dedicated transport which has: extra armor, a hunter killer missile, and a pintle-mounted storm bolter.
Grey Hunters - 200
A pack of nine grey hunters with a meltagun, rhino, and wolf standard. One model has mark of the wolfen and they will be lead by a Wolf Guard in power armor.
Grey Hunters - 195
A pack of nine grey hunters with a rhino and wolf standard. One model will have mark of the wolfen and they also are lead by a wolf guard in power armor.
Thunderwolf Cavalry - 200
4 Thunderwolf Cavalry with their standard equipment of bolt pistol, close combat weapon, frag, and krak grenades. The Wolf Lord will join this unit.
Interesting. I think the second grey hunter squad needs a special weapon, it would be a great benefit. How are the power armored wolf guard equiped? Are you prepared to convert those thunderwolf cavalry models?
I think you may be right about the special weapon for the grey hunters, I was thinking about that today when I posted the list. The two Wolf Guard in power armor are just equipped with bolt pistol and close combat weapon right now. As for the Thunderwolves, I have been looking online for videos and articles to help me in assembling this unit, one thing that I have been thinking about is using the wargs from the Lord of the Rings game as thunderwolves but I am not sure if they would be big enough.
