    Hydra 75
    Hydra
    Hydra

Trying out an idea I heard from Sandwyrm. Namely scouting Stormtrooper chimeras. After deployment they scoot up 12" (popping smoke if going second), giving the list a space advantage from the start of the battle. I decided to go with Vendettas as well, to accentuate this. Depending on the situation the Vendettas could hold the 3 flamer squads (to give the Vendetta scoring) or alternatively scout with 2 melta command squads a veteran squad for alpha strike (that would give me 6 scouting melta units).

Thoughts? Should I find points for an Astropath in case I want to outflank with those Stormies? (I'm not sure, I think I would still rather them be on the table from turn 1 in almost all cases)

3 Stormies are overkill. 2 work just fine, even at 2500.

I also think you need some Marine killing large blasts in there somewhere. Else they have no reason not to just walk across the field.

I haven't placed them on the table before, and you have, so all right.

I realised this also after posting, but thinking from a different angle. I realised I've spammed things to kill transports quick, but I have midfield meltas/blockers already. Its an unneccessary over focus.

    Revision:

    CCS – 3 meltas, chimera 135
    CCS – 3 meltas, chimera

    Stormtroopers – 5 dudes, 2 meltas, chimera 160

    Veterans – 3 melta, chimera 155
    Veterans – 3 melta, chimera

    PCS – 2 flamers 40
Infantry squad - autocannon commissar 100
    Infantry squad - autocannon 65
    Special weapon squad – 3 flamers 50
Special weapon squad – 3 flamers

    Vendetta 130
    Vendetta
    Vendetta

Medusa - open topped, like real men
    Medusa
Medusa (eh-eh-eh... With 3 Vendettas and 2 scouting melta buses being more immediate threats, the Medusas will be quite operational when your friends arrive...)

Only 7 hulls in my deployment zone?! Emperor protect...

I don't think that the Medusas mix well with the Stormies. The Medusas would also be my #1 priority, particularly if I got first turn against you. I'd trade at least one Meduas for 2 Hydras to hide the other 2 Medusas behind.

Hydras would be a terrible thing to hide behind. It doesn't want to move, while the Medusas do. I would prefer to hide them behind the advancing chimera wall (one chimera is always going to end up stunned anyway, which would be a good candidate for screening duty).

Standard deployment could be this (going second). I picked a particularly building heavy map.
