    2,000 Point Army

    I'm playing a 2,000 point game on Friday and we are going to play until one side kills all the other sides models. I'll be facing chaos space marines and he takes a lot of transports so I packed a lot of Melta. Tell me what you think.

    if he has a lot of transports, you'd better have a lot of autocannons, not a lot of meltas.
    Drop the PlasCannons and put on 2 autocannons, saving 30 pts
    i'd drop the plasmapistols and meltas on the CCS and get 8 plasmaguns instead. Doing this saves 10pts (includes the 30pts above)
    3 stormtroopers are an overkill imho. you can scratch 1 of them and save total 115p
    If you drop a chimeltavet squad you now have a grand total of 270pts to spend: 3 hydras and an autocannon scout sentinel would fit perfectly.

    Yeah, you need more ranged dakka. Not that meltas won't do the job but Chaos Marines want to get as close to you as possible. You're playing to his strength by having no choice but to engage at point-blank with him. Regardless, your list could work if the opponent is heavy on Plague Marines and/or light on ranged support himself.

    There's no real need to tailor a list for beating CSM. They have several exploitable weaknesses, particularly low model count and restricted deployment options.
