2x Ironclad Dreadnought-180
-Storm Bolter to Heavy Flamer
5 Assault Terminators-xxx
-Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields
3x 10 man Space Marine Tactical Squad-170
Land Raider Redeemer-xxx
I think all the points are right, I tried to get as many flamers and meltas as possible but I just coudn't fit one on the land raider, yes I know the general opionion is crusader over redeemer but the redeemer is....... Salamander-y. First Loyalist list so all comments and critisism is more than welcome.
Just a man.... with a chainsword.......
HQ: He's Great
Elites: Termies are fantastic, Sometimes I put a single L-Claw guy in there for a few extra I4 attacks. Dreads are fine and ressillient.
Troops: Basic with no protection or even a power weapon. I have seen an interesting Vulkan list with himself, 30 Tac like this and 20 TH/SS Termies. Great fun for 1500.
I think they would be better with a Rhino or razorback each but where to free up the points? Swapping a dread for a MM/HF Land Speeder or a couple of MM attack bikes could fre up the points or downgrade dreads to normal dreads with MM/HF and ditch the LRR for 5 more termies and just footslog 10 of them.
Heavy: If you keep it try to get a MM on it.
Quorn! - Protein for the Protein God.
Hmm, let's see.
Nothing wrong with Vulkan, and he is the fluffy choice. Bit point heavy for 1500 but isn't a problem
These guys need transports, otherwise they'll just never help anyone and get destroyed much to easily. You could go a full drop pod list or give 'em rhinos. Do not give some rhinos and some drop pods.
Your list is a bit low on AT so you want meltaguns in these squads, and to take care of unexpected MCs and walkers charging you, a thunderhammer (becomes master-crafted )
Ironclads are good
Terminators are good with vulkan, however in a landraider (which they need to be good) are a big point sink. BTW, they can take the landraider as a dedicated transport (meaning it does not take up a heavy support slot).
To get those upgrades on those squads I would do one of two things:
1. Drop a dreadnought (it woudn't be coming in on turn 1 anyway) and use those points. Use any remaining on a multimelta for the redeemer and attack bikes with multimeltas
2. Drop the terminators and landraider, and consider an all drop pod list (3rd ironclad) or just more shooty units. Attack bikes with multimeltas are always good with vulkan. If you want a bit more versatility in your list or play a lot of infantry heavy opponents then take landspeeders with heavy flamer and multimelta instead.
Hope this helps.
