New to Grey Knights - 1000pt starter list

So I am new to GK and have decided to start a small 1000pt army as a way of a break from my normal Warriors of Chaos. I chose them as I like the fluff, very cool models (love all the swords and halberds, kinda like fantasy!) and low model count

I have come up with a few possible lists but wanted to see what you guys thought of this one:

    HQ:
OXI+pa+psyker+rad gren=78 (idea is he goes with the purifiers)

    ELITES:
    8 purifiers+2 psy can+2 hammers+4 halberds+rhino=270

    TROOPS:
    2x 6 GKSS+psy can+hammer+razorback with psy ammo=380

    HS:
2x Dreads with 2x TL auto can+psy ammo+search lights=272 (search lights are because I had spare points!)

So what do you think? I was wondering if I should change out the psyker on the OXI to psycho grenades and a combi-weapon, would that be a good idea?

The other thing is I have a box of terminators and want to use them, but it seems like they're probably not worth it at this points level. Is that right?

It's a good list and similar than the one I run

    =][= + Rad 40
10 GKSS, Hammer, 2 psycannon, psybolt, rhino 290
    5 GKSS, Hammer, Psycannon LC/PG razorback 200
    5 GKSS, Hammer, Psycannon LC/PG razorback 200
    Psyfleman x2 270

I have the extra scoring unit and better razorback weapons but you get the powerful purifier unit with double hammerhand. I do add 9 purifiers when I expand to 1500.

Is feasible to run terminators at this points level? I want to use them but are they better used at higher points levels like 1500? Also, do you think the lack of a 3rd scoring unit would hurt me much at this level?

I just thought the purifiers are probably better as they combine the traits of both a GKSS and termies.

I'll use terminators at 1000 points from time to time. They're expensive, but...in the grand scheme of things, they're usually worth it. You can fit two full squads of terminators in at 1000. Though they won't be completely pimped, 20 terminators is always a scary sight.

That said, 5 terminators can be fine at this level.

Decided to drop the purifiers from the list in favour of another strike squad as I think having 3 scoring units at this level is more important than the more powerful unit. Therefore I have re-worked my list to the below, which is now a lot like Mad Cat's
I think if I progress to 1500pts I'll add some terminators and purifiers then.

    Anyhow, my completed list:

    HQ:
OXI+pa+psyker+rad gren=78 (goes with 5 man strike squad)

    TROOPS:
    5 GKSS+psy can+hammer+razorback with psy ammo=170
    6 GKSS+psy can+hammer+razorback with psy ammo=190
    10 GKSS+2xpsy can+hammer+psy ammo+rhino=290

    HS:
    2x Dreads with 2x TL auto can+psy ammo+search lights=272

Just as a formatting suggestion, most lists on LO either seperate using commas, or something like
    Inquisitor
    <upgrade list, seperated by comma>

    Grey Knight Strike Squad
    +1 Grey Knight
    Psycannon

    etc...

It makes it easier to read.

That aside, it looks fine, however, your 10 man strike squad needs a second daemonhammer. Every 5 Gks need 1 DH.

That, plus, Daemohammers are good. I mean, really really good. If that squad gets shot and a DH guy bites the dust, that squad can be tied down against an MC, or walker or something. Hammerhand helps, but wouldn't you much rather bash your way through it, than hope for a good roll result?

They're relatively cheap, they let your squad engage any unit in the game easily, and gives you more tactical flexibility. They're like Psycannons except for Melee.

2 Hammers on purifiers are worth it but only take one in GKSS. The justicar alone has 2 attacks and an extra hammer on a single attack marine isn't worth the cost.
