I've got an upcoming tournament and I'm trying to work out what to take. I've played this list 3 Times, and won all of them. I tried to make effective against all army's.
CCS w/h 3 Plasmas, vox- 100
Veteran squad w/h 3 melta guns- 100 (In valkyrie)
PCS w/h 4 Flamers, chimera- 105
3 Infantry squads w/h vox, commissar, power weapon- 205
Valkyrie w/h heavy bolters- 110
2x Battle tanks- 300
Also, 1 question
Can my Vets start the game in valkyrie? Because one of my opponents denied I could.
Yes; the Valkyrie is not a dedicated transport. Furthermore, the IG FAQs confirm that the Valk/Vendetta can scout and outflank while carrying passengers lacking those rules.Originally Posted by Darkracer
The CCS needs a Chimera to be truly effective with those plasmas. Can you trade the Valkyrie for two Chimeras? A 3-Chimera advance is sufficient for a 1k game. The vox isn't needed, either, thanks to the Commissar's leadership. Use any leftover points to give weapons to the infantry blob, either heavies or specials as you prefer.
Otherwise, looks good.

HQ: Yes add a chimera.
Elites: OK but he would be the first thing to drop to give you spare points.
Troops: Vets are good. PCS is excellent, 3 suqads combined with a commisar are ok but only have lasguns. I would use the CCS to babysit the platoon freeing up the PCS to go hunting. Add a standard to the CCS and ditch the commisar and take AC/GL in each platoon squad.
Fast: Upgrade to a vendetta or missile pod valk.
Heavy: Fine. 2 Hydras can replace one russ if you fancy medium fire support.
